I'll be forever in your debt by showing me the path to geekdom. I'm always thankful for being shown the paths to a better me.

Very familiar with KoDT, and I downloaded a 'hack' of the HackMaster files for a giggle.  However, that's the nice thing about my world; it's actually a world.   History, geography, politics, clearly defined wars and cultural/physiological evolutions.  Technically, it could be used for just about any gaming system, with a few minor tweaks.

GURPs came out after my world was already in its second inception [update].  We're on the sixth inception now, with a seventh due...

edited because I'm typing dyslexic tonight...

I am uncertain why you seemed to think that I might need a definition of inception.  But okay.

Yes, all of that "old-guard" GMing, without modules [self-contained units].

I was going to use old-school or old-style, but with all of the old-guard claims running about, I thought that would be more fun.

It may just be Friday-after-a-long-week brain damage, but I'd actually need that explained.

See? *gives Aylee a sidelong look*

No worries, dc.  It's a joke amongst the RPG gaming community at large.  To avoid special attacks or magic one may make a "saving throw" [roll a die and hope to hell they roll high enough before an ogre squishes them; a fireball burns them; or whatever the imminent danger-du-jour is].  Some attacks cannot be fully avoided, thus the character still "takes half damage".  Combined with the common "Jesus saves" bumper sticker, it can make for a droll giggle for some RPG players, like myself.

*finishes inflicting the long explanation*

Trying. Nothing disastrous, just projects that won't go away, cranky vendors whose lack of payment isn't my fault (but they whine to me anyway), feeling overstretched. At various points, I actually wanted to put my head on the desk and cry.

Thanks for explaining the "Jesus" joke, Lumus. Wouldn't have gotten that in a million years.

Funny.  I put my head in the desk drawer and proceed to slam it shut on days like those.  Sorry to hear, dc.  No worries about the joke, a few of us geeks got carried away...just not far enough.

I might try that, but the desk drawer is too small!

Thanks! It was nothing awful, just a pain-in-the-ass workday.

Hey dc... not the case for me. I was away being a sci-fi geek, watching Stargate: Atlantis. Now that the mind-numbingly bad excuse of Flash Gordon is on, I've returned.

Sorry to hear about your trying day. Perhaps your weekend will be relaxing.

dc, with all due love and affection... *kicks you in the arse*

I don't know about anyone else, I'm just having a hard time concentrating.  Part of it is misisng my girl; part is this damnable cold; part of it is pondering why in the Nine Hells a submissive friend of mine would challenge me to come up with a humiliating scenario for her [like I couldn't do that in my sleep!]; part of it is my ever-growing frustration with the backstabbing at work as of late; part of it is wanting to cuddle my son; part of it is the impending holidays; and last but not least, part of it is the horrid feeling that I'm about to hit another writing jag and have little time to accomodate it...

[/rant]

So for me, it's definitely not any 'whining' on your part, dc, so don't be silly.  I whine with the best of them [as you can see...]

Maybe you just need a good spanking to perk you up.

*grabs a paddle*
