Then again, if he is talking about their needs about your own, that is love and devotion, regardless of status. To put others before one's self is a very unselfish act.

Status: offline 		I feel that, as a dom, it is my job to care for my sub. I must not only think of my own wants, but hers as well. I have to make sure she is being satisfied both in my dominance, and in all other aspects of her life. For me, being a dom is not about always putting myself first. Because my sub is in my care, her needs come first, then my needs. After that it is our wants.

An example is sex. Due to her responsibilities to her family, she has to get out of bed early in the day. She does not get home from work until 4am. Knowing she has only a couple hours of good sleep before she has to be up making breakfast, I do not typically make her have sex after work. She would love it if I woke her up with sex, but for her own health I have to put her need before either of our desires. 

Another example is injuries. Phoenix is frequently injured at her work. I have to make sure that nothing I have her do will in any way make her hurt in a bad way, or worsen her injuries.

Now that is all about a relationship with love as a major component, and I don't know about relationships where love is not involved.

Considering the OP is a serial offender for starting simplistic and vague threads (at several sites) but that you seem to be an expert here, by all means decipher for *all* us.

I know the OP well, he does this stuff on several sites like was pointed out. Its not beyond his scope of things to mean what I was refering too.
 
IT was said tongue in cheek, but, after reading a few of the other responses, it would not be that far fetched.
