Dunno...never been on a barge going down a canal, but why not?  Actually, that life sounds rather boring to me.

To each their own. Out of interest, what in your life is more exciting than sailing down a canal through the English countryside, and stopping off at places to have a look around at the history, architecture, local culture etc? 'Not prying, of course.

What would you prefer in a relationship:

1) One where your partner guides you, and helps you to understand yourself and your place in the world etc.

2) One where you simply sail down the river in a boat with loads of beer and weed, not a care in the world, you don't give a flying one about understanding yourself....all you want to do is have a good time, and serve your partner's needs.

3) None of the above/a combination of the above.

i love the water and there's something lovely and peacful about just floating along letting the current take you.  But i would not want to be on any boat that does not include some method of steering... and an anchor.  i would not want to navigate any river without a Captain who knows how to get around the sandbars, the rapids, and knows to where the river flows.

Don't tempt me. *Grins* I might just show up. I've never been on one (except a mini-bike) and I want to try it soooo bad.

So you two come visit, with Val's permission i bet Scooter would take you for a ride. You will never look back!

Then we can take the mini bikes out and i'll teach Val how to ride so he can handle the Harley he will then have to buy, grins.

I'll take the learning from Him, as well as Him learning from me.
Improving constantly, growing always.
Living on the boat - travelling and inhaling everything around and every new situation, drinking the beer, enjoying life, and working to be more that we always can - together.

Now, where is that bottle opener, NG?[;)]

Hi all,

Straight to the point:

1) One where your partner guides you, and helps you to understand yourself and your place in the world etc.

2) One where you simply sail down the river in a boat with loads of beer and weed, not a care in the world, you don't give a flying one about understanding yourself....all you want to do is have a good time, and serve your partner's needs.

3) None of the above/a combination of the above.

In both one and two, your partner loves you.

none of the above:  i'm a big girl and don't need someone to help me understand myself or show me my place in the world, and i certainly don't want to revert back to being 15, so yeah, none of the above is my final answer.

Cyntilating -> RE: Question for the ladies of the section....... (9/2/2007 6:45:10 AM)

Northern Gent,

Oh! great question and even better because of all the options you make available : )     ...just love ordering al'a carte!
let's see....hmmm

1) One where your partner guides you, some of this but amended to read "guides us" rather than "you" and helps you to understand yourself and your place in the world etc. the relationship I am in,We are both learning and growing in ourselves and in our lives..and he very much guides and leads us...so choosing #1 is my first reaction....however>>>>>You said I could add from #2 ...woohoo..so

2) One where you simply sail down the river in a boat  and we can stop and fish along the way.... loads of beer and weed, well since I dont drink alcohol or smoke ( its a personal preference, not judging anyone who does..)  if I can replace those with " the best icecream in the world that won't make me gain weight" then Ill take some of that : )  not a care in the world, you don't give a flying one about understanding yourself..No..leave that part out..it doesnt pertain or reflect my thinking at all..all you want to do is have a good time, double order of that please!!! and serve your partner's needs..absolutely! anything he wants thats in my ability and power to give him...use me use me use me! woohoo        and does this sailboat go out onto the open ocean?  because I would love that adventure...something on my to-do list : )

For clarification, beer and weed is a collective metaphor for enjoyment, feel free to replace them with anything you want........I dunno...religious persecution and free tickets for the hanging stalls or something.

In a nutshell, what is important to you, enjoyment or understanding?
well with the "nutshell" clarification..I believe that with understanding, comes the enjoyment..Tempting

Oooo... so much fun. I don't think Val would care, as long as I wore a helmet. [:)]

Bishonenjim -> RE: Question for the ladies of the section....... (9/3/2007 4:38:54 PM)

That question seems rather loaded... It's like where would you rather work A a 9-5 desk job or B Managing a chocolate factory operated by strippers (of your favored gendor).

whysperz -> RE: Question for the ladies of the section....... (9/4/2007 11:09:09 AM)

How about a Dom strong enough to pull off #1, that demands periods of #2....or would that then make #3?

I am in a relationship similar to the first option, and I prefer that to the second one. It seems more my style, I guess- plus I'm not a very big fan of weed, haha. :P

Sounds like the difference between an affair and a relationship, to me.

For me, definitely option 1 - that is the essence of any relationship, vanilla or D/s.

Hopefully, fun will be a part of that.

fast reply ... combination of both

life is for living .. i dont want to see my life flash before me and see it devoid on anything but service, but then i know that overall the life flashing before my eyes will be brighter because of the service

ProlificNeeds -> RE: Question for the ladies of the section....... (9/5/2007 10:29:52 AM)

I don't know that there has to be any guiding or involved self-understanding. I'd want to be in a partnership where we BOTH learn and grow together, but being overly analytical of that doesn't make it magical. I like to think people come to understand themselves better as life goes on, but it doesn't have to be a soul search, experience just helps them recognize and percieve themselves and the world as an ever changing. By the time you 'know yourself' you're probably already changing.

Relaxation is fun but add some white water rapids to your peaceful river, some kayaks, and several more bodies to laugh or yell at, then maybe I'll throw in some of catagory 2. Life tends to be slow enough for me on a day-to-day, I want some good challange and excitement.
