That should work awesome...

On topic: I'm half tempted to try an epilator now... Is there a brand that is less likely to take off chunks?

*jaw drops* That... is really special.

A word of caution regarding Veet.  I used it ONE time.  Ended up literally screaming from the burning pain.  I honestly thought I had permanently damaged myself.  And, trying to wipe it off just made a bad situation worse.  I tried standing in front of a fan, no relief.  A couple of hours after I finally got it off the pain had subsided somewhat.  By next morning, I was back to normal.  Since I can't afford professional hair removal, I'll just spend a couple of extra minutes in the shower every other day, or so, and stick with Skintimate and a (good) razor.

i actually love Veet. i use it all the time. It is the one thing that works completely for me and does not burn. afterwords, i put on a little medicated powder, which cools everything, and i am good to go.

However, while on the topic, i have a funny story. It was NOT funny at the time. LOL
i was fairly new in the life style and training under a Domme. i had never shaved my pubic hair and she wanted it shaved, so she said SHE would do it. Several weeks went by and several subtle reminders from me, but still i remained unshaven. So, we were to attend a weekend long BDSM event, my first, and i was going to be on display for the first time in front of 100s of people. i really wanted her to be proud of me and asked again about the shaving. She told me again that she would do it and to stop asking.
Well, here it was, the day before the event and still i was unshaven. So, i took it upon myself to attempt it.
i used a razor and shaving cream and did the best i could, considering i could not see what i was doing. When i was done, i felt the area and was just not happy with the job. It HAD to be perfect!!!
So, i went to the store and got some Nair and used it on my freshly shaved pubes.
You can imagine the pain and the mess i had. The next day, we were getting ready for the party and she said, now I will shave you. i told her what i had done and showed it to her. She just gave me this pitiful look, shook her head and told me to get ready.

At the play party that night, she had me naked, tied and face up on a table with my legs spread wide. With a strap in her hand, she looked at me and said, "This will teach you to be patient and trust me".

Lesson learned.

I'd say don't shave, don't wax yourself, and ouch, I have an epilator, it works, but only really for legs.. I got massive ingrowns from using it in personal areas. It was so bad. Anyway, get waxing done by a professional esthetician, until you can get laser treatments if you can ever afford it. Or if neither of those can work, do a sensitive cream depillatory, then try an aspirin product like tend skin after - or crush asprin with a spoon, mix with water and apply like a paste for ten minutes, then rinse off, if you're not allergic to salicylates.

I love, love, love my epilady. I have the "gently gold" model, which vibrates. The vibration thing really does make it far less painful. The key to an epilator is getting the skin as taut as possible. On your lady bits, this involves some very awkward positioning. The first time is awful, but it's really not too bad after that. Now, I only do touch-ups every other week or so.

I concur with the earlier poster on the horrible evilness of Nair/Veet. If your skin is at all sensitive, STAY AWAY.

Good luck with the hirsute hijinks.
