I made a statement on another thread that made me wonder about other people thoughts regarding being a "no limits" bottom. 

Here goes......I am curious to other thoughts on the matter.

"For me, the phrase "no limits" is a hyperbole, but only because I take things too literally and to the extreme. (Think Hannibal Lecter)"

If you consider yourself to be or are looking for a "No Limits" bottom.  What exactly does that mean to you?  Does anyone really believe, in the literal, sense that they have no limits whatsoever? 

How do you define "no limits"?
(I would appreciate opinions and views from anyone on this matter)

From what I've read, those who have no limits mean that their Masters decide what limits they have.  I understand the Hannibal Lector reference because I more or less thought that myself; however, all the posts that I've read (from no limit slaves) more or less state that their Masters are sane and don't wish to destroy them.  So, in my opinion, they have chosen Masters who have, basically, the same limits that they themselves do.

For myself, having no limits simply means that I chose a partner who I was extremely compatible with; and because of that, I took on what limits he/she decided to impose on me.

I agree with this, I had never thought about it that way but that does make sense.

To me a big majority of the people saying they are no limits, or want no limits also live in a bit of a fantasy land.  Everyone has a limit of some sort no matter what your orientation is.  When I get emails from people claiming to be a "no limits" sub I tend to just tell them to jump off a bridge for me and write me back with pictures....I think it gets my point across.

For me, that seems to be it in a nutshell.  But I have still not heard from the diehard "no limits" identifiers..............I wonder if anyone disagrees with this concept.

I'm not hannibal.

No limits means someone doesn't limit doing things I like.

No limits in an established relationship means to me, that the Dominant and submissive know each other well enough to do away with stated limits. The limits are still there. Submissive X isn't going to murder someone because their Dominant tells them to do so. It means that the Dominant knows better than to ask submissive X to do it.
 
In someone you've just met, no limits means wanker.

There is no such thing as "no limits".  Anyone who professes this just hasn't yet met their limit.  Or they are not dwelling in reality.

Same here: my husband/slave gave himself to me with a no limits "contract". But he knows I'm not a fool and will not harm him, only surprise him f.i. when I lent him out to a sick friend to do the household.

Alone or on pizza?  Seems subtle, but that could very well be the determining factor of  whether you're a true submissive or slave. I know how important being true means to you. Have you ever tried roleplaying eating anchovies first?[8|]

RRafe: I am all about the Love and consensuality, Baby![;)] I am not into any kind of meaningless punishment, just because I can inflict it (if that answers your question). I want to know what kind of kink they are interested in as well, even if as a Domme, mine do take priority, much of the time (I really do). If you're not gonna at least basically enjoy it, I say why do it?

I think it's great if someone wants to pledge they will cut off their arm for me - but they can also pretty much rest assured, that I'll never test that hypothetical claim to devotion.

They look and taste like flattened, salty worms, or little salty snakes to me (or what I  imagine those would taste like, I haven't eaten salted worms). When I see them in a can, or on a plate, I can't get that image out of my head. (Sorry if this ruins anyone's previously gourmet impression of Anchovies...it's just a personal thing w/me, and one of the very few foods I just can't seem to  ever want to eat. In fact, I can get to feeling ill just thinking about it, if they are in front of me). The role-playing idea sounds to me, like an exercise in Sadism, he.
