As others have said, your particular skin makes a huge difference.  I have more experience with cutting than scraping.  My sisterslave and I were each cut 3 times on our upper arms.  Mine were gone in a couple weeks, but she still has hers nearly six months later.  Also, placement makes a huge difference.  The same Master used the same knife and similar pressure to make cuts on my ass.  Because they were stretched and sometimes opened when I moved and particularly when I sat down, they took 4-5 months before the scars faded away, whereas the ones on my arms and breasts healed in only a couple of weeks.  Also, you might want to consider not closing circles and triangles completely in the letters, as they can scar poorly (less legibly) if you do.  Basically the whole area could scar, rather than just the lines, then.  Good luck!
