Scraping a Word into the Skin? - 9/18/2007 11:55:36 PM

Status: offline 		i want to have my Master scrape the word fucktoy into/on my skin with a knife i've never done this before but i want to know what it feels like. would like any and all information from anyone who has done something similar to someone/has had it done to them.

I have no experience with this.  However, if this is to be a permanent scar you may want to consider what future kids, future b/fs or husband, and doctors will think of it.

Status: offline 		I've seen it done, and now when the person get's overly heated...the word still shows up; a year later!  And the sun doesn't darken it like the surrounding skin, either...
 
You said 'scrape' rather than 'cut'...but if 'cut' is the word; consider it might leave an even nicer scar...  I had one small one surgical scar become keloidal and had to have it cut out and redone with injections of cortisone every day or so as it healed.  It was a mess...that I've not experienced before or sense. 
 
I'd consider what the word means, where it's gonna go and if you'd be happy if it lasted forever?

Status: offline 		You can also put ink over the scratches and get a "tatoo" look of sorts...i've seen that done.

From my own experiences, typically when he scrapes into me, it's not very deep and the scar lasts a few months and fades to nothing.

Once he scraped rather deeply - not major cutting or carving - and the scar lasted about a year or so.  Nothing of this kind of activity has lasted permanently on me.  One thing to consider (and not as significant since the weather is changing), is while it is healing, don't expose it to a lot of sun, because it may change the pigmentation and create a more lasting scar.

Status: offline 		Unless your master is experienced in cutting, I'd look for someone else to do the job.  It is quite easy to get infected, etc if not done properly.

As far as the cutting itself goes.  I've had one in my life.  I really didn't feel much.  The cut is still there.  It's been  5 years since I got it.  Basically the way I think about it.  It is as simple as a paper cut.  You don't feel it until you move the wrong way.  Before you know it, you are healed.

However, some cut deeper than others.  I've never seen anyone cut yet where it raises much blood.  Of course I've only seen people who know what they are doing. 

There is abrasion play out there.  Seems to me if you want a word..cutting would be the way to go.  Abrasion play would be messy overall.

Status: offline 		If your Master has not mastered the tecnique or knofe work or cutting go to someone who has and ask you Master to be there. Rember all it takes is one slip just one slip and that kife can easially go threw the skin best case cause a scar worse case cut a artery or a major blood vessil possiably even the mussle or cause nerve dammage. People pick up a knife and think well Ill just scrape then oops well you pick up a knife and there are no excuses in the world for a oops. This is not a flooger this welt will never go away. Rember this as you think of who has the knife in hand to scrape or cut. I am pasionate about cutting's if you cant tell and i would hate to see anyone hurt because of a simple mistake.

Status: offline 		i have had lines and words scraped with sharp, sharp knives that have lasted from weeks to around a year...and i have also had a deliberate cutting done with scapels it is still very visable 7 months later, no where near as faded as the scrapings...the former ones were done by untrained people....the latter was done by a woman after extrensive training....for brevity the rest of the post will only talk about the former....
in one relationship, part of the ritual of blood letting was sharpening the knife myself...so that it would be done "safely"....a dull knife has to be pressed harder leading to the possibility of slipping and cutting deeper than you intend to....and then sanitizing the blade with 90% rubbing alcohol.... then i would lay across an ottoman in front of him and he would run the blade across me, if i did my job right, he didn't have to press down, the weight of the blade was enough to cut just deep enough to release blood (there was only one knife we used for cutting) and it felt like little lines of fire going across my skin when i was being cut by him and that feels good to me...but i don't interpret pain the same as "everyone else" so...that may not be the way it feels to you...when he was done he would slap my back a few times, then grab me by the hair on the back of my head and rip my head back and growl "bleed for me, NOW"  and once i stopped cumming, he would drench my back in rubbing alcohol, wipe off all the blood and i would lay under his feet till i came back to earth....
there have been more experiences, but that was the most ritualized....

Status: offline 		I think it has to do with the individual person.  I bruise and scar easily -- if you look on my upper left arm you can still vaguely see a couple of letters from where I carved "FAILURE" into my arm in high school, and I didn't even cut as deeply as some people I know.  But I know a few people who absolutely gouged the Hell out of their flesh far worse than I ever did and they've got nary a scar in sight.  Unless you know how resilient your skin is, though, I'd say to really consider how much you'd like walking around with that carved into you, especially at family dinners, taking the kids to school, etc.

It's already been said about making sure that the person knows what they're doing, but I'm going to reiterate it because it's really freaking important.  If you can't have someone with a medical background do the cutting for you, then at least make sure he reads a few anatomy texts before he brings that knife anywhere near you.  Have an emergency kit on hand and a plan of attack just in case anything does go wrong (apply pressure and elevate your arm to help staunch the flow of blood, do NOT use a tourniquet unless it's an absolute emergency as this can cause serious circulatory problems and kill nerves and tissue).  I'd recommend using a surgical scalpel or any other very sharp blade.  Surprisingly, a sharper blade hurts a lot less than a dull blade, and produces a cleaner and more precise cut.  Sterilize the Hell out of any blade that you use beforehand, and after the cutting is done, apply Neosporin or another antibiotic ointment and a gauze bandage.  During the healing process make sure that the bandages remain clean and dry, and change them regularly to prevent infection.  Once the wounds have closed up, you can start applying cocoa butter or a hemp seed oil-based lotion twice a day to minimize scarring.

Status: offline 		do not apply a bandage unless you can not stop the flow of blood, this will only slow down the healing process, but do keep the wound clean....if you are doing something particularly dirty apply a bandage for the length of the activity and the remove it...sweat is not dirty...

Status: offline 		We do that sometimes - my owner scrapes the initial of his last name, which he branded into my a few years ago, on my back, butt, or breasts.  I love it personally, it reminds me of how people carve their initials into a tree - its definitely all about him marking his property to me.  What I also really like is when he licks up the blood (we've been togeher for several years and are fluid bonded).

Status: offline 		I'm not sure if you're wanting something temporary, or are actually aiming for a scar. Naturally, you should take into account complications regarding either (if it scars, is it somewhere that can be easily hidden when need? etc).

The sharper the tool, the less likely you are (in my experience) to have complications. Clearly, you want clean tools and to clean the area of skin that's going to be your canvas. I'm referencing tools for purposeful ambiguity. I'm partial to scalpels since they're sharp, easy to handle and precise. You seem to be into knives. Whatever you use to get the job done, just make sure you have prep and [extended] aftercare covered.

Status: offline 		Ritual scarification is fun stuff. If you want to leave a permanent mark scrub with hydrogen peroxide daily between sessions. If its a one time thing and you don't want a scar use mederma.Oh and yes it hurts when you scrub

Have the word Ivdas on my left arm, from a time of much frustration.
It did not bleed significantly, but did scar darkly with a mild raise.
Been thinking I should redo it, so it'll at least look properly.
Perhaps adding Iesvs on the right one to complement it.
The original was done with a woodcutting knife.
I would not recommend that approach...

Do take care as to what word you pick, in any case, as it may very well stay with you.
While "fucktoy" might be appealing to a certain aesthetic, HR rarely shares it.

Perhaps a different language, or different alphabet, might be useful?
I rather like Arabic script, Cuneiform, Tolkiens' and others.
As for words, "ancilla", "dorei", etc. are sweet ones.

Mine went ballistic when he was doing my blood pressure controls last time around and had to use the left arm.
