Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change share the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Wise people, those Norwegians.

He shoot himself in the foot a bit, by not making sure the facts in his film were correct.

I like Al, and very likely would vote for him if he runs for president, but his "detachment" from the facts on occassion is why I voted for Bush the first time around.

pahunkboy -> RE: Al Wins! Al Wins! Al Wins! (10/12/2007 3:28:33 AM)

wow.

well my question to the candidates is how many corporations will be decharterred under their reign. how many a month, how many a week, how many a day. how many an hour.?

the fact is a corporate charter CAN be pulled. but it is seldom if ever done.

Do you think he'll pledge to continue ''the war on terror'' if he throws his hat into the ring [8|][image]http://www.collarchat.com/image/s2.gif[/image]

If Al Gore has any integrity he’ll hand it right back to them and say, "no thanks, this award became meaningless when you gave one to a terrorist and a murderer."

I am referring, of course to Yasser Arafat.

So you got fucked on both deals then...as Mr Bush has a great factual issue or two himself.

Thats why I hate movies made by or about the governement or their afiliates.
Take that 911 film By Micheal Moore. He states and I quote "...Iraqis who have never killed an America..." He obliously Forgot about a little thing in the 80s call the Gulf War/Desert Strom.
These movies are mainly oneside propaganda and paranoia conspericies. Designed to scare the average american pothead.

Speaking of agit prop movies and ignorance...

quote:

The verdict couldn't have come at a less convenient time for Al Gore.
One day before Friday's announcement that he was a co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, a British High Court judge ruled that Gore's global warming film, "An Inconvenient Truth," while "broadly accurate," contained nine significant errors.

The ruling came on a challenge from a UK school official who did not want to show the film to students. High Court Judge Michael Burton said that the film is "substantially founded upon scientific research and fact" but that the errors were made in "the context of alarmism and exaggeration."
Burton found that screening the film in British secondary schools violated laws barring the promotion of partisan political views in the classroom. But he allowed the film to be shown on the condition that it is accompanied by guidance notes to balance Gore's "one-sided" views, saying that the film's "apocalyptic vision" was not an impartial analysis of climate change.
