i was so very sad to see this thread. Hate is such a horrible word. A word i personally don't use and have taught my UM to never use. To hate a peoples for T/their beliefs is, well in a word, wrong.

I wonder how many people who proclaim to hate Muslims actualy know the real tenets of the Muslim faith, if they ever even bothered to read the Qur'an or Tora for themselves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an In the states you only see and hear manily about the Fundamentalist version of Muslims who do not stick to the tenets of thier own holy book. Much like our own Fundamentalists here. Overseas all of the press is about Our Christian Fundamentalists. ~ Most assume that is how the largest part of the country, and there by American Spirituality is done. We have the same Bias on the Muslim countries because of the press, and a lack of education.

I think before someone choses to hate something they should know what it is they are hating.. but it is often mankinds fear of the unknown or foreign that drives thier fear and hatred.

Personaly I think the world could use a good smiteing about now. But maybe it's just me..

Isn't there enough "smiting" going on? Isn't that part of the problem, as well as some of the things you mentioned, such as ignorance?

You know what I'd like to do?

I'd like to go genetically testing such people, and finding that they are the descendants of European slaves traded to the Arabs centuries ago - or better, the descendants of Alexander and his army, or of European origin in some way at least.

Then, the rest of the Arabs can despise them and treat them as the enemy within.
