Usually, if nerve sparing surgery can be performed, such that the man can still achieve an erection, orgasm can occur, but there is no ejaculation. This from a paper entitled: "Orgasm after radical prostatectomy" (Search for it online -- note it is amost a decade old, and newer surgical techniques probably are resulting in better experiences than listed here.) Nerve sparing techniques are improving and I expect results are improving. I also suspect that meds like Cialis improve some men's ability to attain an erection. Of twenty men queried in the noted paper, all lost some erectile ability. Fourteen of the twenty could still orgasm. Four out of twenty felt that orgasm was as good as before the operation. All reported missing the "point of inevitability." Seven of the fourteen complained that the orgasmic sensation was weakened. And seven of the fourteen experienced involuntary loss of urine during orgasm. For five of this group, this was so distressing that they avoided having any sexual contact with their partners. I don't believe that a prostatectomy causes shortening of the penis. However it is possible (though I have not heard of it) that the cancer has spread into the corpus cavernosum (the spongy tubes that fill with blood to cause an erection) and if a section had to be removed, this would shorten the penis.
