Hmm I will send u the link on the main side

BBBTBW -> Random Stupidity (11/5/2007 6:33:20 AM)

Ha ha Mya, People should think before they write....Not that I haven't put my foot in my mouth before...but I do try to learn from such mistakes

BBBTBW -> For the Record (11/5/2007 6:56:48 AM)

I don't scene either.  I am what I am and I do what I do and if I choose to do something with and/or for another under my umbrella of D/s then that is just what we do....when I play, I pull out a board game or something.

chellekitty -> raising your parents (11/5/2007 7:01:39 AM)

LA mentioned this the other day on another thread...raising your parents....i just had to rant at my mother to get it into her thick skull that my younger brother NEEDS to be in the hospital....he's had a fever that spikes over 103 for 2 solid weeks and hasn't been able to eat in all that time...he is able to keep liquids down when he doesn't have a fever....but shit....he has been to the ER once and the doctor 2 or 3 times and no one is insisting they put him in the hospital, i don't even know if they are telling the doctor everything that is going on because i am not allowed to go because i have no authority in this house...which they are all to happy to remind me...in this case i just want my brother to not fucking die....is that too much to ask?

"You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means" -- Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

One of the funniest lines in the movie!  And later, when Wesley tells him, with thick irony, "Truly, yours is a dazzling intellect."

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. “Pooh,” he whispered. “Yes, Piglet.” “ Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw.  “I just wanted to be sure of you.”

BBBTBW -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 7:25:20 AM)

You could take him yourself when your parents aren't around or you could call child protective services annonomously.

Edited to add:  How old is your brother....Does he not go to school? ??

BBBTBW -> RE: Inconceivable! (11/5/2007 7:31:56 AM)

Gotta LUV The Princess Bride....Absolutely one of the BEST movies ever made.   Gotta LUV Pooh too

MadameMarque -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 7:46:26 AM)

Yeah, Chelle, that's scary.  As BBBTBW has said, you could report the situation.  You could also call a hospital, tell them the situation, and ask for an ambulance.  Once EMT's are there, if they know that the situation's been going on too long, with no intervention, hopefully they'd insist upon at least seeing your brother.

I hope he's okay.  He may have some kind of serious infection.

chellekitty -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 8:22:05 AM)

he just turned 18 on the 19th of October...legally, anything that could be done he'd have to do himself...but he's at the age where he still wants mom to do it for him...and he still relies on my mother's knowledge...

he's a senior in highschool, but the school knows he is sick and his advisor has been collecting his work from the other teachers...

BBBTBW -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 8:37:42 AM)

He will NEVER leave the age where he wants Mom to do it for him.  Tell him out of concern for his future health and not disrespecting your mother, you would like him to PLEASE go get himself checked thoroughly.  It is not normal for a person to run a high fever like that and something not be seriously wrong.  Tell him you love him, then its his call.  You can only do what you can do.  You can't blame your parents for this one.  He is an adult now...The call is his to make.

chellekitty -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 8:45:05 AM)

well...considering that he doesn't have a license and depends on them to drive him, and at this point, he is so sick that he would not be able to make legal descisions for himself...i can blame my parents right now...sooo....i am still good...

BBBTBW -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 9:10:07 AM)

Ok, One can only go based upon information given...I went with what I had based upon what you gave.  Hope he doesn't continue to get worse.

BBBTBW -> Intention -vs- Perception (11/5/2007 9:12:11 AM)

Which is more important?  I think perception is.  If what you intend is not how others perceive it, then your intentions are for naught if you don't do anything to modify your presentation.  Right or wrong?

*edited to include boldfaced text

chellekitty -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 10:49:14 AM)

right, i was a little frazzled when i wrote it...thanks for the concern...an update...he was admitted to the hospital...hopefully they can find out what is wrong with him and get it taken care of....

BBBTBW -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 11:23:53 AM)

Thats cool.  Understandable.....Glad to hear help is on the way.

MadameMarque -> RE: raising your parents (11/5/2007 1:57:01 PM)

I'll certainly ask for his blessings, Chelle.

This is a difficult one, in a way.  I think I need to know more specifically, what you mean.  Are we talking about the actual effect on someone, of what one does or says, vs the intention?  Or are we talking about the interpretation by others, of a communication, vs the intention?  Or is it about people's interpretation of how we are, in general, compared to how we really are.

BBBTBW -> RE: Intention -vs- Perception (11/5/2007 9:51:39 PM)

For this one in particular, I was thinking more along the lines of interpretation of a communication.

mya75 -> Bangs on the Door (11/5/2007 11:02:09 PM)

*kicks it in* *grins* Anyone home?

BBBTBW -> RE: Bangs on the Door (11/6/2007 8:35:45 AM)

I was here honest, I was just hiding behind my eyelids
