"Dark thirty" for 30 minutes after dark. I "tote" my belongings, I don't carry them. But, I do "carry" my car down to the "filling station" to get the oil changed. If somone ask me where something is within seeing distance, I say it's over "yonder" I call the movies, the "show." I still call booze the "sauce", and I say a person is "sauced" when they have imbibed a little too much. I am never about to do anything, I am "fixin' " to do it. I also don't think or believe something is true, I "reckon" it's true. Turn signals in a car are "blinkers." My grandmother called the trunk of a car, the "turtle". She called easy women, "trollops". She called dating, "courting."
