IMO there is a difference between being judgemental and being nasty.

Yes, "judgmental" is what I am when I do not agree with the way people live their lives..... "nasty" is what other people are when they do not agree with how I live mine

That quote is a keeper.  Thanks Julia

Let’s say the new person has stalled on the railroad track and a train is barreling down on them .. he/she rolls down the window of his/her car and yells out “What should I do?”

The first person will approach the car and say “I believe you may want to remove yourself from your vehicle as soon as possible.  But that will be up to you.

Then you have people who have been on that particular track in the same situation and will grab you by the shirt and yell “GET THE F*CK OUTTA THERE BEFOR YOU GET KILLED!” and physically shock you enough for you to take some sort of action.

I love this analogy but want to take it a bit further, referring back to the OP.

Along with the two types of people mentioned above there are the ones who stand by the road and complain because someone got stuck on the tracks last week and you should have done the research to avoid asking the question.

Then there are those who say you should have known to buy a better car so you wouldn't have stalled in the first place.

The ones who say you should embrace your driver's license and accept the train's will to flatten you and your car. Who are you, to question the train?

And those who complain because your yelling has interrupted the argument they were having on their front porch.

None of which will actually get you or your car off the tracks, metaphorically speaking.

<<<Now since there are so many facets to what it is that we do YES I expect there will be MANY MANY MANY different answers however what I see more than answers are attacks, judgements, and generalizations on other people. >>>>

I actually felt much the same when I first joined.

And yet I posted, what I posted about was important and real to me, and I got mixed responses.  There were a few that bothered me, mostly because the responder totally misjudged me, my Dom and the situation.

Why?  Becasue they were simply responding from their perspective and experience to the words I had written.

That's all we are doing, responding in written word, to someone else's written word, it is unlikely that those words can and will  encompass all that a person is, thinks, does or feels.

most people belittle others to make up for their own shortcomings. it most times takes only a few posts to deviate from the topic. people with shallow minds do shallow things. most people dont realise that they learned from being taught. but when it comes time for them to share, and help someone else learn and grow, they show their true self, and both lazy and selfish. maybe not lazy, cause they couldve used to same energy to leave a positive learned answer, rather than putting  that into negative energy.
