I live in central Arkansas.  It's not that bad here.  It does leave a little to be desired culturally.  But, it's a beautiful state with a great climate.  The places I would never want to live in the U.S. are pretty much the entire upper Midwest.  It's too freaking cold there, and the food is horrible.  I have never been a big fan of large cities.  They are nice to visit, but I can't stand the traffic and the pollution.  I'd love to visit Europe, but I can't say I'd want to live there.  I have always wanted to visit the south Pacific in general.  I can't say that I want to live there, because I have never been.  But, I can think of no bigger adventure than being on my own boat visiting all of those far away islands that dot the Pacific.

I would go to Japan, the country side. I wouldn't habdle living Tokyo or the other big cities very well. Too many people, I'd go insane.

But I find the culture very facinating.

And, out of interest, have you travelled outside the US?  Like to the south of France or Italy?  If it’s a more chilled out and "genuine" (down to earth) lifestyle you seek, those guys wrote the book.

I lived in the Netherlands for two years.  I would go back, and recently had to turn down an offer for a contract gig in Amsterdam since I am still probationary as a longshoreman.

I need to move places that have an ILWU presence, but moving someplace like Eureka might not be too bad with a six figure income to support me there.

Ah cool.  So long as they're paying you enough to compenstate then fine.  Not bad places, per se, you understand, just a bit lifeless.

Where I am now, Devon, particularly where I live.

An alternative choice would be Essex.

If it came to another country, I would choose Iceland, don't really know why, but the place has always fascinated me from childhood.

Did try to live in Sweden, but there were too many trees.

Hi,
This is a 2 part question just something I am curious about...If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why? Also where is your current location *approximate*?
As for myself currently I am in the U.S. and would love to live in London /Ireland something UK'ish......my reason is change ...I dont think just because we are born in the states that its such a wonderful place.....meeting a Dom who is not from the U.S nor trying to get here would be a plus! lol ....just my opinion

I'd say a small bungalow on the westside of Portland, and a weekend place with a little grape/apple growing acerage high on the slopes of one of the quaint little hamlets in the heart of the Columbia gorge{Hood River or White Salmon} The absolute best of city and country living combined.

Almost there......
