childoftheshadow -> Bruises (11/23/2007 3:26:17 AM)

G'morning everyone.

I saw a thread about someone wanting to continue "playing", but to avoid bruising. My question kind of goes the other way. I can't seem to bruise for love no money. I want to . . . I want to feel it for days after, but it just doesn't happen.

My partner and I had a grand ol' time last night with my favorite (his belt). He really went for it, for quite a long time. I went to bed a sore, but today there's nothing. Any ideas how to black and blue my backside?

Thank you

My theory (and this is just a guess from looking over my shoulder into the mirror)  is that if you want bruises you need something with a bit of weight and resistance to it.

Yes, I love the belt too, and the new flogger is divine, but they don't leave bruises like the riding crop, the sole of the rubber sandal (ouch indeed!), or a paddle with a bit of weight to it.

Good luck, enjoy experimenting!

So here I am again with something from off on a tangent, but it applies.

Take aspirin. This may sound wierd but it is true, aspirin makes you bruise more easily. The sordid side of this (remember it's me here) is that at battered Women's shelters they tell them to take aspirin for that exact reason, to provide evidence against their abuser.

I would never have thought of that Termyn8or, thank you

Two words - bamboo cane. Hurts like a mofo, and by the next day was butt was practically black.

Looks like I'm going shopping this weekend. Thank you

Make sure before you introduce caning in your relationship make sure you both know what you are doing.  Caning when done improperly can cause serious injury easily.  There are also wide variations on canes and their effects and some need further treatment and continuing care.

good luck!

I have been brusied PLENTY with a belt....just sayin.[:)]

He gave it a good go with the belt, and there were marks, but they faded by morning.

some people bruise like a peach, I bruise like a brick.

nyrisa -> RE: Bruises (11/23/2007 6:44:01 PM)

I would advise against using aspirin to increase bruising. Aspirin thins the blood and reduces ability to clot, which is great for desired bruising, but should you have a car accident or an emergency appendectomy. the resulting hemorrage would not be desirable at all.

To increase your bruising, without risking undesired bleeding, try taking a hot bath prior to play, to dilate the blood vessels near the skin. This makes them easier to rupture with superficial trauma (which is what a bruise is). Also, a deep firm massage of the area after each few strokes will encourage any leaking of blood from the capillaries to continue longer. Make sure you are very well hydrated before hand by drinking plenty of fluids, as this also thins the blood a bit.

If you just can't bruise, what about welts? The welts from a switch tend to stay around for a good while. There are also other implements that would do the same.

an electric blanket, sweat the bitch out, by running or exhaustion, I agree wholeheartedly with nyrisa-------------

I finally bruised. I was so pleased I just had to share.

Thanks for all the advice.

ShellyD -> RE: Bruises (12/7/2007 5:03:28 AM)

I agree with nyrisa, aspirin is dangerous to take for a purpose like this, the side effects could be life threatening, and no I am not the safety police, just concerned re: potential bad results. Ditto with warming and massage prior to play to dilate blood vessels as a bruise is merely blood in the tissues/dermis, and indicates a trauma to the region.

childoftheshadow:

The fact you don't bruise easily may be healthy for you. To interfere with that reaction may not be healthy for you.

The memories are in your head. Do you really need them on your butt ? [;)]

childoftheshadow -> RE: Bruises (12/7/2007 7:08:03 AM)

I have a huge memory on my butt today and it's fantastic.

I didn't take anything, or go with the hot bath. All it took was a change in what we used. Shockingly (to me), it was a wooden spoon that did it in the end. For such an innocent looking thing, it hurt like a bitch, and got the job done.

I am unsure where the wholesalers  or discount stores for the UK are, but you might lookup birch dowels, I get them about 8cents apiece here, and throw the ones with knots................you know, naughty schoolgirl and stern headmaster, bend over, drop the panties, assume the position, withstand the birchrod caning,   that sort of rot..........

childoftheshadow -> RE: Bruises (12/7/2007 7:57:45 AM)

Is that something I'd be able to get in like a DIY store?

mnottertail -> RE: Bruises (12/7/2007 8:06:29 AM)

yupper, ask for birch dowels, say you are using them for a cabinetry project.....they run here about 3 foot long, and anywhere from a quarter to 7/8ths around.......get an assortment.......just one or two of each, look and insure that there are no (or at least not many) black spots (where knots were) and clean and straight grain in them......you will not need the thick ones.....take them home and try them out, they are fairly springy...and should they shatter they wont sliver like bamboo (which to me is dangerous) and in fact they break fairly cleanly......(safety first) then knowing what works on your ass and your mans arm.......you may want thicker or thinner.......then buy all you want.....of course they are going to be more expensive than buying in bulk but not overly so......

Thank you very much Ron. I'll mention it to him tonight and see if he fancies a trip out this weekend.

He's just starting to overcome his issues with "hurting" me, so the more I can get him to try and become comfortable with, the better.
