Thank you for not continuing to answer my question.  I think my point was made.  [;)]  And with that, I'm definitely through on this thread.

edited to add:  I would hate to get spanked by Mod11 personally, she scawes me!!!!!![sm=hair.gif][:D]

MzMia -> RE: Do you try to take the High Road on Collar Me? (12/9/2007 3:49:13 PM)

Actually, calling me Mistress Do Me is a complement.
I adore her style, thank you.
You could learn a lot from her.

This is also another good reason people shouldn't ever make an issue out of taking the high road- ever single time from here on if Mia chooses not to take the high road, she will be even more highly penalized in terms of social respect.

MzMia -> RE: Do you try to take the High Road on Collar Me? (12/9/2007 4:39:04 PM)

Actually, as I stated at the beginning of this thread, my high road is whatever keeps me out
of "moderation". [:D]

I will not bite that apple*
Believe me, the people that I consider my friends on here are still my friends, and I just made a few more.

this is not adressed to anyone...

if you are constantly having to tell people how dominant, how submissive, how polite, how conservative, how liberal, how prim and proper, how much better you are...lets just face the cold hard facts, you are not....your character is shown through your actions not your words...

oh and....my character is shown through my actions, not my words...and i am human and i am not here to be liked by all...i don't do people pleasing anymore...that is just as bad as being selfish and self centered...i am true to me...and if i make a mistake, i own up to it...that is my road, firmly planted on the ground....because there is an awful long drop off that high road....

It's unfortunate but people have very long often incorrect / altered memories of things said and done here. Make one mistake and it will be dragged up every time you post anything on the topic in question.

are you going to attempt to take the High Road...   on Collar Me?

I'll tell you the straight truth, MzMia.  I plan to keep right on taking whichever road looks like the most interesting ride.

Great answer!
I often wonder if I just plain go fucking off on here, if I will be put in time out and moderation.

Those thoughts steer me in the direction of the high road.

MzMia, I agree with those who said to take whatever the hell road you want; I personally say whatever I want to according to the reaction elicited by whatever thread I am reading.

The only time I would not post something is when I am just too bored by the whole thing (and even then I might make a snarky comment for my own amusement) or I really think I will have a written hissy fit resulting in Mod 11 yelling at me (which has happened for the first time, twice recently, yeah me!)

I don't think avoiding a topic is taking a high road if it actually bothers you so much you end up thinking about it days later or having to make a thread about it, ya know? :)

And you don't seem like the type from what I read from your posts to shy away, so hit that low road, lady!!

MzMia -> RE: Do you try to take the High Road on Collar Me? (12/9/2007 5:02:24 PM)

Well, low road or high road it will be MY road.[:D]

Then whatever road I feel is the most fun for me {especially online}.

Damn, life is good.

are we having fun yet?

Just take a road... any road... I prefer the Pacific Coast Highway

Julia, I think my lot in life is to be on the road less travelled.

I am sitting here trying to figure out how members can know things for "facts",
unless they are more than just a member also.

We learn something new every day!

Personally I just don’t see why I can’t at least try to be liked by everyone… and if they can’t like me then at least get them to respect my integrity if not my argument… what’s wrong with that? I don’t need to agree with someone all the time to enjoy a conversation or a debate.

Hell I forgive easily as well… I understand that passion for a subject often results in heated exchanges. I guess I’m the type that could feel passion enough to fight…but after the fight shake the hand of the adversary.

I pretty much stopped taking the "high" road when I realized the consequences of being stopped by the CHP wouldn't be all that pleasant to bear.
I still think that the "principled road" is a good way to go, both on and off CM. But life has a way of forcing detours fairly frequently.....

Oooh, have to agree there. Especially in a convertible with the top down and some great road tunes on the ipod. Sigh...I miss my little convertible. RIP!

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: Do you try to take the High Road on Collar Me? (12/9/2007 8:37:18 PM)

Personally I love Robert Frost's poem! Regarding which road I take...I tend to take the one that shows the least amount of construction ongoing when I mapquest the directions. Yeah. I know I really need to get one of those navigational thingies instead. I'm completely technologically impaired.

Ok, in all seriousness. I've rarely lost my temper on the forums but, that being said, I've heard from our Beloved Mod 11 a time or two in a moment of weakness. It happens and I think we all find someone that just rubs us the wrong way occasionally.

However, when it does occur; I tend to take it off the boards and ask privately whether I am simply taking whatever was said in a way that wasn't intended for it to be taken. Sometimes I'm mistaking it as something not intended. Sometimes I'm taking it exactly as it is intended. Whichever the case I'll leave it as a private discussion rather than take my issue with something or someone public.

Perhaps that negates the entire purpose of an open discussion on a  message board but I also tend to find it keeps me from losing my temper when it's simply a matter of misunderstanding or miscommunication.

Perhaps it was a year or so ago that I read one thread in particular that was highly offensive, racially charged, and instead of blasting off continually, I opted out of the thread.

From my observations people always find reasons to hate each other, if not color it would be something else.  Take politics for instance.  Ok lets not.

Awww, what's wrong with a good political squabble among friends?  LOL

I'd rather take the Robert Frost road.

And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

I've favored that poem most of my life.  Now I'll be in bed reciting .... Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both ... etc.

Too funny, I almost bought a Pontiac Solstice when the previous convertible was totaled..same car as the Sky essentially. Unfortunately there was quite a long waiting list for one. Of course the Dream Car is the Mercedes SLK AMG55 or the CLK-GTR. Since only 5 of the latter were made and there's a close to $2mil price tag on it I'm not holding my breath. LOL

Let me know when you cruise down my way!
