i very very recently had my first knife play scene. It was a very casual play scene in a party setting in which i felt very safe BTW. The sensation of the point dragging up and down my back, legs, and errrrr..other areas <g> was awesome. The feel of the cold steel was a new sensation as well. My question is really quite obvious i'm sure, but i would like to get some other opinions on this. What is the draw of knife play? Is it just another tool or do others feel the thrill of the potential of danger? i personally was incredibly excited by the thought of an "Ooops" (knowing full well it wasn't going to happen.)

I haven't yet been able to do a scene involving knife play, but I enjoy the psychological aspects of that sort of play. I have no intention of doing any cutting on the skin, but enjoy the idea of having a sub tied up while I cut off his clothing and doing basically what you described- letting him feel the cold blade against his skin in various parts of his body. I enjoy kidnapping role play, and knife play is something I would include in that. Be well, Julie

That was the word i was looking for..mind fuck! When the scene was over, i was actually surprised to find that i wasn't cut with blood running all over my body. While there were no marks to speak of at all, in my little mind, that knife was doing a lot more damage <insert a shiver here> smiles

When I have been the wielder of the blade in a scene, it has all been an illusion. It is a folding knife (similar to a buterfly knife). So I can make a lot of noise opening and closing it. And its wicked looking as hell. But other than a little point, its about as dangerous as a spork. It's all about the illusion of danger in a safe environment. Call it a mindfuck if you like tho, love that term. My knifr ie a great tool for sensation play or for removing cooled wax from skin. And I adore seeing the shiver go up a womans spine as it whispers along her flesh. ButI am not a bloodsport kind of guy so that's the extent. I agree tho, that knives are hot LoL. Nuke }:-

Knives are very hot. I happen to also enjoy bloodplay, but I'd never cut anyone without her knowing it would happen and I expect the same if I'm on the bottom - tell me before you cut me.

I very much enjoy abrasion play. So, I love the feeling of the tip of knife dragging across my skin. I am also madly in love with vampire gloves, talons, etc. I do not like cutting at all. I have nothing to do with the mind fuck for me. With me it's all about the sensation.

I very much enjoy knife play. My pleasure for knife play is very dependent on who I am playing with. Sometimes the play is a huge mind-fuck. I played with one incredible person an intense play in which she was restrainted and ran the knife along her body filling her mind with what all a person could do with the knife. I worked her to a point that all her focus was on the knife and I am was but an after thougth. As she reached that stage... I leaned over to her as a pushed the knife to her throat and whisper "and now i could just kill you" It sent her into a huge mental rush.... for us that was the play. Everytime I played with her and the knife the was a huge mind-fuck. She just loose herself into the knife and forget that I welded it... and off to the races we went. With another girl... it is a hugh blood play... i will and do just do it to cut and make her bleed.. the rush is the blood... as she tastes her blood of my finger or the knife... she is lost and finds a sense of peace and immortality from the play. With one of my slave it is very much a sensation play. I will use it to cut her and push her... she hates the feel of the cutting (so i get my Sadist desire quenched), but loves the sensation after the cut... finds it soothing.. and just melts when I spray her cuts with alcohol... she just drifts into a sensation paradise. KoM...hither, is exactly right. Even though you would not be in that position, if you did not trust? It's the whispering in the ear....I could hurt you, you are helpless, what if I am not who you thought? .....While letting the bottom feel the points of interest as you explore.

The most enjoyable experiences I’ve had using a blade on a female was shaving her pubic hair with a cutthroat or straight razor. No hair and no blood but each girl was quivering in ecstasy when I finished… Have to think about taking that up again

For me it's the fear, which is why for the most part I find knife play boring and difficult to find partners to enjoy it with. I have to BELIEVE they could and would actually hurt me. Just how safe is breath and knife play?Safe knife play

Oh wow I'm gonna be tore up all day just from reading this thread, LOL. LOVE knife play but haven't had it done but a few times la sigh no cutting, just the sensation & the trust there totally flipped me. I had NO fear that they would cut me so fear wasn't the trigger at all for me. It was exquisite.

Congrats on your first bladeplay experience. I enjoy all aspects of bladeplay. Scraping, shaving, heat/cold/electrical sensations, cutting, poking and insertion. One thing I have found to be hot is to place a medium sized blade (6-8" total length w/ handle) with the edge facing outward between a girls labia and then use clothes pins to secure it in place. With the blade firmly secured, your hands are free to perform all sorts of other Evil deeds. ~Thorns

Having bee on the receiving end of knife play, you can probably answer this question yourself. You talked about the fear and excitement you felt. That's what it's all about, really. The mindfuck can be a powerful thing. For those who like to push the envelope a bit further, knife play can include some actual cutting as well. Not everyone will appreciate this, but for some people, like Liz (Hi Liz!), the fear needs to be real. There has to be an expectation that one time or another, you WILL be cut. Another thing I have done with knives is to "scratch" a design into the first few layers of skin. The sensation is a bit more intense then scracthing with fingernails, but the end result is almost the same. Beautiful red and pink lines that cover your body for a short time and fade away long before the memories do. This can be a nice way to carve my initials into someone, or just to do a decorative pattern. Again, the marks are temporary, but the thrill of it can be wonderful for some people, and the memories can last forever. Especially if you take a few photographs! There are some other "mindfuck" techniques that can trick someone into believing they are actually being cut, but I won't go into those right now. Too many bottoms reading here. Personally, I think it's probably just as easy to go ahead and cut someone if that's what is wanted. Of course, you'll want to have some bandages and antiseptic handy. Also, make sure the blade is clean and as close to sterile as possible. And lay down some towels or something to catch the blood so it doesn't run all over the furniture. Hyde

Personally, i am not sure how much of the attraction of this thing is the mindfuck or how much is the sensations. The sensations were awesome! but the mindfuck was so powerful. Do i have to choose??? <G>
