I spose now it's all out there, and I KNOW that you can outdork me any day dc, I can tell the world I went to the once in a lifetime, sooperdooper, amazingly unbelievable David Cassidy concert in Melbourne. My adolescent passions were aflame. AFLAME I say!!

Did you say David Cassidy?
He was my first childhood.....crush.

deep sigh
I still enjoy listening to the Partridge Family, go to U-Tube, Miss M, they
have tons of Partridge Family Hits.

MissM did you hear the rumor that he is packing?
Rumor has it, 10-12 inches, you did not hear that from me.
YouTube - Partridge Family & David Cassidy - Summer Days.
YouTube - Partridge Family - Echo Valley 26809

Iwill always love David Cassidy/Partridge Family!
Damn, now this thread will have me listening to them all night.

Haha I have the Partridge Family Christmas CD.  It's freaking awful stuff really but it sure brings back fond memories.

Whoa, time out.
There is nothing at all uncool or embarassing about The Pixies.
Thats kinda like saying "Oh, I am so humiliated, you caught me listening to The White Stripes." Or T-rex, or Lou Reed or Miles Davis or any of the other bands that defined what hip really is.
Every generation there seems to be one or two bands that transcend their music and define what is kewl, their legacy lingers on long after they have passed from the scene.
Fuck, Frank Black is Uber-cool, even Cobaine worshiped him.

This is true, shit-loads of people like Black and the Pixies.

ok, i'll fess up.  i've seen shawn cassidy in concert, barry manilow, the bee gees and neil diamond.  in my defense i've seen pink floyd and aerosmith too, i'm not a total geek!

PM

Neil Diamond is my mother's favorite and was actually one of the best concert performances I've ever seen despite the fact I really didn't want to go I was impressed as hell.

ROFL no you are not.   I have to confess that as a small child I was hooked on the Jackson 5 (the kids were all very talented despite the end resulting freakiness as adults), the Sonny and Cher show and the Partridge Family.  Oh and yeah I actually LIKED Air Supply alot for awhile.....(hangs my head in shame and runs away).

And only because Level tried to diss my Donny -- i still know every word to every Donny Osmond song.  His rendition of "Twelfth of Never"  still brings me to tears.  :)

Oh, man, now this is really embarrassing.  I was at a three-day seminar for work.  One of those touchy-feely, hand-holding, 'what personality are you' ones that were popular in the 90's.  They ended one day with a group meditation moment, and played ... oh, crappola, just forgot the title of the song.  You know that cheesy one about fathers and how he never played with his kid but now he wants to play with him, but the kid doesn't have time ...  the Nyquil is kicking in now and I can't get the energy to Google.

Regardless .. it was humiliating trying to hide my reddened eyes as I walked out of the conference room!  It just brought back all the vulnerable, hurt feelings from a bad relationship with my dad.  ::sigh::

Harry Chapin, "Cats in the Cradel"////////////I know every word to everyone of his songs.............and I am NOT ashamed dammit!

What can I say?   I have a soft spot in my heart for the Donster.  I'll bet the following is more to your liking, MissMagnolia.

I'm Your Puppet

Pull a string, and I'll wink at you, I'm your puppet.
I'll do funny things if you want me to, I'm your puppet, girl.
I'm yours to have and to hold, darlin' you've got full control.
I'm your puppet, ooo, ooh, I'm your puppet, girl.

Just pull the little string, and I'll kiss your lips, I'm your puppet.
Snap your fingers, and I'll turn you some flips, I'm your puppet.
Oh, your every wish is my command, all you gotta do is wiggle your
little hand.
I'm your puppet, ooo, ooh, I'm your puppet, girl.

I'm just a toy, just a funny boy, makes you laugh when you feel blue.
I'll be warm or cold, do just what I'm told, I'll do anything for you.
I'm your puppet, ooo, oooh, I'm your puppet, girl.

Just pull the little strings, and I'll sing you a song, I'm your puppet.
Make me do right, or make me do wrong, I'm your puppet.
Oh, treat me good, and I'll do anything, I'm just a puppet and you hold my
strings.
I'm your puppet, I'm your puppet, girl.
I'm your walkin', talkin', livin', lovin' puppet, hangin' on a string, sing
for you girl...
Ooo yeah, I'm your puppet, ooooh, I'm your puppet, girl.

C'mon, the guy was well beyond his years.

Where There's a Whip There's a Way

Where There's a Whip There's a Way
Where There's a Whip There's a Way
Where There's a Whip There's a Way

We don't want to go to war today, but
The Lord of lash says nay, nay, nay
We're gonna march all day, all day, all day
Where There's a Whip There's a Way

Where There's a Whip There's a Way
Where There's a Whip There's a Way
Where There's a Whip There's a Way
Left, right, left, right, left,
Where There's a Whip There's a Way, left, right

The crack on the back says we're going to fight
We're going to march all day and night and more
'cause we are the slaves of the dark Lord Zor
Left, right, Left, right, Left, right, Left, right,. . .

-Orcs. return of the king, animated

That was an effing awesome song.  It did strain my credibility just a tad to hear marching Orcs singing in perfect four part harmony, but it was arguably the best part of the animated movie.

My favorite music is filk, which is even weirder and more obscure, but it's about all I listen to.
