How do you protect yourself when you're asked for a pic in response to a personal ad?

I fully understand why people send "body part" pictures in that it obfuscates who you are while still being risque enough for a personal ad response. But there must be better techniques  - by that, I mean ones which elicit a more favorable response from your recipient, without endangering your privacy and identity.

What do you do to protect your privacy when sending pictures?
Do you blur them, remove the EXIF data, downsize them, pixelate them ... etc.

Any ideas on how better to send a photographic 'description' without giving away privacy?

Please explain this EXIF data you speak of....

i personally don't send pics, and the ones i do post you can never see my face....or anything else that shows me as me (to those i don't want to know i am me)

This is somewhat moot, as I have pictures in my profile. But in general, if I feel the need to go to extreme lengths to protect my identity from an individual when sending a picture, I would question my judgment in sending any kind of picture at all.

Edited for clarity.

I don't either, quite obviously...I've even had "the girls" posted on a thread.

If you really have concerns in sending out a photograph and you have to do all different things to blur your face, then you shouldn't be sending one out?

The pics I'm willing to share are already on my profile. If they need something more, I'm more then willing to meet them in person at their expense.

I also feel that if I have to take extra steps to keep and protect my privacy then I won't send my pics out.

There are no rewards without some level of risk.

I take all the technical precautions that I can, but the first and best line of defense is to exercise caution to whom I'm sending photos in the first place.

I'm more likely to send a photo to someone I know from these Message Boards -whose posts consistently strike me as coming from a mature and sane lady - than to a CM member from the other side who doesn't post here.

I  fully understand why some Dominas insist on a photo with the first e-mail contact. That is their privilige.  At that juncture, my only real choices are to take the risk, or pass them by.  If I am in doubt, I choose the latter.

I don't do anything. I also do not send out photos of myself except to those I am relatively close to (example, family, close friends etc. that want to see my latest projects or additions to the family). Why would I? Here, I have provided several photos of myself. If someone is looking for something more, then they can come for a visit, IF I allow them to, and take their own bloody photos.

If a person is so worried about protecting themself online, then perhaps this type of interaction is not the best place for them.
