True. I've been called a man whore before. Probably deserved at that point. I didn't care.. but it was more because I rarely find the grave interest in the opinions of others that my female acquantiances might.

In a way, I suppose it's still less of an insult; the double standard is still alive, even if in decline.

PS- Actually, thinking of it.. "whore" wasn't such an insult, either. As a matter of fact, "whore" and "man whore" were about equally insulting..

Double standards are very much alive....you admit to being a man whore but you expect your partners to be untainted? I don't understand the logic there.

Heh. Too many things wrong with your analysis to even hit them all. So, let's go for one.

Does "Probably deserved at that point" not convey to you the idea that it was a temporary, perhaps-no-longer-true condition?

I'm sure many different people take it many different ways, particularly varying with cultures. Did you know some people would expell you from their presense if you accused them of being a "stud"? Particutarily Catholics in Latin America can be rather up-in-arms about that one..

As for everyone, my observations of personal interaction will be biased dependent on my particular culture; I'm not liable to associate amiably with people who invest time in indiscriminate sexuality. So, for those I know, being a "whore" is negative regardless of gender.

Yes, I do comprehend rather well, thank you. The fact remains that you were/are (makes no bearing) a self admitted man whore. How can you expect, without it being a double standard, your partners to be "unspoiled" as you put it, when you, yourself are "spoiled" already?

Then you're also misreading it.

If I said I acted stupid at a time, but then said that I didn't like stupid people.. would you be able to discern the difference between having acted in such a manner for a finite and negliable duration, or will you associate such an act with a life-long mannerism?

Of course not. However, I find it interesting when people used to be "man whores" and then change to the point of no longer getting along well with those who still are. It's not an insult, I just do. The same as I find it interesting when a person with the "wait for marriage" frame of mind decides to engage in rampent sex and decides to stop speaking with all the rest of the virgins.

You said you probably deserved it and gave no more details. I could only work with your words that you did probably deserve it. In the situation you describe I would have never agreed that you probably deserved the title since you never had sex with them. If I misread, it's because you didn't provide further information.

I understand the point you are trying to make. All i am saying is that just because you are of the male gender, and all your parts are external, jumping in the shower and washing yourself, does not cleanse you of any of the partners you had been with prior. You can't just say "Ok I'm not a man whore anymore", and not be.

I sort of consider it that way with rapes. Sadly, a lot of girls I've known have been raped. Some of them, several times over a period of time by the same person. So those never count against a person. Not that.. it's attractive to consider, by any means, just.. it doesn't seem right to hold that against someone.
