I totally get what you are saying, Akasha.
I love horror movies and although I do not like watching porn, it has always been a desire of mine to MAKE a horror porn film.

Just to give people a little pause for this morning, this came acroos on my morning news and I went searching for an article on it to give a url link.
This children's book illustrator's pet project is a trivia game about serial killers

Answer the questions correctly and you get to kill the person in the house. An excerpt from the article:
Based on Monopoly by way of Trivial Pursuit, Hobson's game rewards those who know their John Wayne Gacy from their Bundy. The well-informed land on an unnamed victim's house and deliver a body to the dump. The person with the highest body count wins, but to get there, knowledge is not enough. The game is seeded with what Hobson calls "entangling situations," such as random discovery or chance intervention by law enforcement. Still, justice rarely prevails.

i like that kind of stuff especially when Sir goes with me......He always finds a way to freak me out even more than i already am....(grrrrr) that right there is worth paying $9.75 for lol

omg i want that game!!!!!!!!!! i'm pretty well read up on serial killers and that looks like it would be fun to play at a party. i really should point out again that i am a pacifist.. i just also happen to like gore and mayhem.

He hasn't found a publisher yet, though I will admit I could probably do well at the game myself. Hmmm we could probably make that game or something similar.

Ok..this is sad, I can also see a BDSM game...Name that Torment!

I don't know if I'm surprised. I've always known my tastes were "extreme." As I see it, fantasy is a place where I can cast aside the usual concerns and safety restrictions. If it's fantasy, I don't have to worry about actually hurting anyone. So, fantasy is where I let my darkest demons come out to play. When I'm reading a story, or watching a movie, I find I revel in things that I would never do in real life. I don't have to worry about the consequences, because it's fantasy. This is good for me, because in the real world, I always need to be responsible and safe.

Well Im a big horror film junkie... Been watching them since I was a kid.

Today's torture porn? It depends on the plot.
If the movie has a good plot or was done well, I tend to like the film. But if it is purely made just for the torture and gore, I tend to dislike it and find little value in it.
I enjoyed the first 2 Saw films. The 3rd one I disliked, and the 4th was better. The ending in the first Saw film blew me away. Must be one of the best plot twists I've ever seen. I thought the Hostel films were pretty good.

If you want horror/torture porn...you should start to watch asian horror. They know how to be gory and realistic in the efects.

Yanno, "torture porn" has been around for a lot longer than movies like Saw and Hostel. I know all of us can think of movies from our childhoods that would qualify at least to them. the Nightmare on Elm Street Series (1984) not only had the blood and gore but some nasty sexual overtones as well. The Exorcist (1973) and The Dentist 1(1996) and 2 (1998) with Corbin Bernsen definately would qualify, American Nightmare (1983), Motel Hell (1980), The Cell (2000) rank right in there for blood, gore and sex as well. Anyone who is an afficiando has watched at least once, Day of the Woman Aka I Spit on your Grave (1978), Black Christmas (1970) and more than a few others., the list is long, the gore and deaths graphic and has been since the 1930's when Freaks debuted. Now while it is true that the gore in that movie (Freaks) was minimal, the story itself is gruesome, sexual and vengeful and features actual circus sideshow persons. Upshot the graphics have improved<?> but the movies themselves really are nothing new and no more horrid than they ever have been. Maybe a little less implied leave it to your imagination which is always worse than anything they will ever show...but, same old movies, same old morality and warning stories. Only the name Torture Porn is new.

OMG I so NEED that game. I did the Q&A at the bottom and got two wrong, but thats not bad, out of ten!
I have always been highly excited by serial killers, the sexual sadists mostly, of course. When I was in grade school, we had to do a speech, and I did Mine on Charles Manson, and afterward the teacher called My parents, cuz she felt I was "sympathic" to him, LOL
In fact, just a little while ago, I was contacted by a Professer at a UNI in the US, doing some research on why ppl are drawn to serial killers and what the interest is for them.
