I knew a pro switch years ago. She said that when she bottomed, there was always a male bodyguard present in the room, and the limits of the scene were carefully negotiated. She was a student, and said a lot of the pros were -- a part time job, do it a few hours a day, a couple days a week.

I was training to be a pro-Switch for awhile myself.. I was suprised by how many pro subs are out there, but many of them seem to switch.. More possible income if you're willing to do either.
