"people here are looking to explore more one side than the other..."...that is true, very much so. From a switches perspective though, at times it varies on what is it I am in the mood for? what is it my partner is in the mood for?....the tendencies REALLY depends on your partner as well as experience of both involved....
There are indeed those who lean more towards sub rather than dom/me....stated earlier in a post some prefer to be the dom/me outside of the role play...vice versa. However, when they are in the role play...it is like playing with fire in their hands...they suddenly have personal gratification in the pleasure of seeing the look of submission when in the professional life it is dictation/high responsibility. Submission is given not forced. So a switch can lean towards one direction or the other, but there are many key factors which influence the direction.....and of course personal choice.

Most female switches I've come across seem to be searching primarily for dominants. Even when declared as switches, I think most people here are looking to explore one side more than the other, and actually prefer to find someone who leans strongly to the other side.

There's a pretty broad generalization. Most female swithes I'm aquainted with , myself included, ARE dominant.

I am using the designation of switch as the alternative to dom and sub, because there was no option for "how the hell should I know?" I figure it will either become apparent in due time what I really like, and could turn out that I don't have any preference. "undecided" would have been accurate. "clueless" would have worked, too. Unlike those of you with experience and certainty about your preferences, I have none and will be making it up as I go along. Right now I am enjoying the ice cream cone icon that shows up beside my user name when I post something.

Short answer...YES. In my case.

In a long term relationship, I would love to have her be a switch, too. That way, we can have it "both ways."

But, if I get in a relationship with a Domme, or a sub, I'm able to adapt to the single roll without too much of an issue.

I found reading this very interesting. There are as many different ways to relate as a switch as there are in any other role.
My personal take on it:
I am a switch because I enjoy both dominance and submission in my partners. But I need to know what to expect from someone before I can be comfortable with them. I am attracted to Doms and subs, but generally not switches. I can't change my head space, or the way I see someone. If someone tries to top me one day, and wants to bottom the next, it leaves me feeling confused and I cannot truely get into either role with them.

Granted I do identify as switch, I am interested in other switches though primarily interested in other dominants first. The submissive part in me plays a greater role and that is what gets fed first; so to speak.
