I came up with this, as Valentine's day is fast approaching.....

  1. Casablanca
  2. The Goodbye Girl
  3. Gone With The Wind
  4. Ghost
  5. The Bridges of Madison County
  6. Starman
  7. When Harry Met Sally
  8. An Officer And A Gentleman
  9. An Affair To Remember
  10. None Of The Above, instead I'd choose....

Does Army Of Darkness count as a romance? I sure liked that one, and the ending was no worse for the love interest than in other romantic movies.

If a romantic movie is going to have a crappy ending, it better make me laugh.

I would pick something dramatic and brooding, like Jane Eyre.  Or Pride and Prejudice.

I picked Casablanca. Sometimes an unhappy ending seems more romantic to me. Ilsa was able to keep her romantic vision of Rick, and never had to be irritated when he snored or left the toilet seat up.

Level,

I would suggest that this is Greatest "American" romantic
flick of all time.  Time for another poll.

i know this is going to sound cheesy, and i couldn't pick just one.  my picks would have to be "Pretty Woman" and "Dirty Dancing".  How can anyone not see that they are great american romance movies? Sheesh!

It just had so many great lines.

So many good choices - but I have to put Bridges of Madison County at the top of my list and one or two scenes from Ghost. I also wish I had a poor boy who said "as you wish" everytime I needed something.

Sigh...
