LaTigresse -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/2/2008 6:51:21 AM)

Living well, being happy.........and most of all, trying to avoid setting myself up for someone to treat me in a such a way I would want revenge on them.

I don't like negative energy in my life so I try to take the precautions to keep it at bay.

There have only been a couple times when I was pushed to using the resources that have been put at my disposal to cause others a return of their karma. Those resources were utilized to remove harmful people from loved ones lives. One case is still in progress as I type. It is unfortunate that the govenment in their local will have a very valuable piece of property when all is said and done. I would rather someone I love benefit from it, but taking the problem out of their life is perhaps better.

For someone to try and hurt me is usually futile. I have too thick of armour and have lived through too much already. But for someone to go after a loved one, that makes me coldly and calculatingly vengeful.

I agree with you - as well as MissM and Sugar and the others. Revenge is futile, and ugly. It says that a person can't get over things.

People hellbent on vengeance need to get lives - I hope my collarme stalker is reading this [:D] .

*Goes to hospital in ambulance to fight another day*

I didn't want to leave people wondering what happened next in this masterpiece I'm working on[8|]

After reading these, I dont think I can write what I did.  I have not plotted any revenge in a LONG time, I dont really feel the need for it much anymore, but when I was younger, that was the best outlet for My sadistic side.

There was a girl I let stay with Me for two months while she got on her feet, and in turn, she robbed Me blind.  I waited a few months, then called the hydro dept, the phone and cable companies, and told them I was her, and moving.  She woke up one freezing winter day, to find her hydro was shut off, then went to call about it, and had no phone.  Of course I heard about it thru other friends, I laughed My fkn ass off.  And this was in the early 90's, before cells phones were so popular.

I once secretly put raw chicken meat in a light globe of an ex-es kitchen.  It went bad, and smelled, and grew magots, by the time she found it.  That was priceless.

Those are the two I will post,,,,,,,use your imagination for the rest.......

Wow. You wouldn't be a Scorpio, by any chance [;)] ?

marieToo -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/2/2008 7:32:23 AM)

It's my belief that the best revenge is not *wanting* revenge.

Afterall, people who are assholes already have empty, unrewarding relationships and miserable lives. Being an asshole is it's own life sentence. What revenge could top that?

Chocolate chip cookies containing rat droppings instead of chocolate chips. They should really be called rat dropping cookies but that isn’t so catchy.[8|]

Wow, fighting over the scraps at the workplace? That seems completely beneath me.

When you get over on some petty asshole, what does that make of you?

colouredin: you really shouldn't use others things without first asking. Seems fair enough to me.

And those who are so thrilled about a post-divorce comeuppances: what does it say about you that you choose a mate so poorly, and then show such obvious distaste for the previously loved one? By contrast, I consider it a badge of honor that almost everyone that has been my lover still knows me and likes me.

There's enough ill will in the world. Don't add to it.

Excellent post. Last time I did anything vengeful was in 1983. I'm not proud of it.

Vengeance does more harm to me than the other person. Not only that; I don't need to accrue any more bad Karmic destiny.

So I guess there's a whole ton of people in this world who are better people than me.  Well, at least on this website. I don't take the high road, it just gives me a nosebleed.

It's not because others don't believe in revenge that they're better than you, but they are different.

domiguy -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/2/2008 11:02:33 AM)

Blown away by people who took the time and energy to bring harm to another in the hopes by causing another misery that they would find joy.

Last time I did that was when I threw snowballs at Ol' Lady Haggerty's window....She took my football that went into her yard. Unfortunately I think that was just last fall.

I hate you Ms. Haggerty....You old fucking cunt!....I'm glad you are a diabetic!!!

bipolarber -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/2/2008 11:14:29 AM)

Oh, I don't look at it as "getting back" at someone... I just think that it's best to make sure someone doesn not profit from shitty behavior. To do otherwise just reinforces their nasty ways, and others will suffer because of it. Turn the other cheek, sure.... but once you are out of cheeks, it's time to take that snide little fucker DOWN!

Nothing like passive aggressive,

I just smile and nod and wait.

I had a few other union members one time screw me out of flipping for a good break on the waterfront.  I finally gave up because the argument was not worth it.

2 years later, one of the ones who did this needed to leave early, but I won the flip to go home early.

I said "remember that time two years ago when I was the early dock signal at pier 400, and you were one of the ones who showed up and screwed me out of my break?"

I waved goodbye when I went home early.

Sinergy

p.s.  The most he offered to pay me was $40 to let him go home.  Normally I would have, but then he would not have learned anything.

xAdamx -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/8/2008 12:02:10 PM)

MissMorrigan -> RE: Revenge is a dish best served cold (3/8/2008 12:14:42 PM)

Ack, thats vile and one of the reason I will only eat out if I can see my food being prepared and know that it has not been tampered with as there are way too many juvenile people contaminating food and jeopardising people's health b/c they think it 'amusing'. If people don't like being waiting staff, get the hell out and do something else, while it's reprehensible for soemone to talk to waiting staff disrespectfully, if someone has an issue take it to management, but don't TAMPER with the food! Grrrrr! Pet peeve of mine as you can see.

So you think that those of us who feel that pursuing negativity in our thoughts and actions is unproductive, and spiritually damaging, consider ourselves to be better?

Honestly, I don't judge myself based on my conduct relative to the conduct of others. I judge my conduct based on how I act relative to how I believe the universe wants me to act. I don't act based how how it makes me, or will make me, "feel".

A simple example: a cashier gives me the incorrect change for a purchase; instead of a five, she gives me a fifty. I don't notice at the time, but later I discover the error. I might feel that, "hey! Cool! I can go buy that Pinot Noir I've been wanting to try!" That thought makes me all warm and fuzzy. But I know it is the wrong thing to do. That checker will have to make that up. She will be $45 bucks poorer. Her kid, who is suffering some malady, needs medicine. Now she's short. She's already on a budget. She has to skinp on food or work a double shift and miss time with her kid, whatever. It echos on down the line.

I return the $45 bucks, the checker is elated, she's in a great mood, she's cheerful to the folks coming through the line, who are then made a bit more cheerful, and they pass it on. She and her little boy get to eat better that week, maybe the kid gets healthier, I get to feel good because I know I have done the right thing, all is cool.

That's the way the Universe works.

Now, you all are presumably adults, you all know what the right thing is to do, why in the fuck can't you do it?
