ORIGINAL: CalifChick Well, first of all, I live in California where it is illegal for employers to require employees to make up financial shortfalls. (yeah, sometimes I'm a stickler for details). Random acts of kindness? Well, it wasn't $45, but I'm pretty sure the buck and change I forked out at Xmas qualified (see my journal post if you care about the details, too much to post here). It wasn't the amount of money, it was the gesture. My "I'm a bitch sometimes" post was in response to some others who felt a need to handslap people who posted revenge stories, no matter how awful or how trivial (and in the grand scheme of things, I think my voicemail "revenge" was pretty minor, especially considering how much other help I gave them when I didn't have to). Would I like to always do the right thing? Sure. Probably make my life easier, who knows. Not gonna see it happening any time soon. Oh well. Cali Slow down, dear. I'm using what you wrote (So I guess there's a whole ton of people in this world who are better people than me. Well, at least on this website. I don't take the high road, it just gives me a nosebleed.) as a springboard for my own beliefs, and to say that I do NOT consider myself "better" than anyone else. Please go back and re-read the second paragraph in my previous post. If it seems unclear, ask for clarification. My example was just that, an example. I made it up to make a point. Sort of like a Parable, yanno?
