Respectfully I ask this question to see if it is a trend. I have been running into "Masters" who appear to have little or poor training. I know just because a Man calls himself a Master doesn't make them one. I have been meeting a much lower quality of "Masters" than usual. Is this a trend or have I just been lucky? From my point of view it is harder and harder to find a good Master, or Mistress, in public settings their behavior, and that of their subs, have a lack of basic social skills is appalling. I see Masters that I know just wince at some of the actions. I know no Master can be the police of manners but has anyone one else noticed this?

Yes, I see more and more masters farting in public, and using the wrong fork.

You lost me on "masters who appear to have little or no training." Training isn't required to appoint yourself with a title. See the longgggg thread on 21 year old masters.

There's a lot of male whackjobs online. Some female ones too! I don't know about things getting worse. Were they ever all that good? How long have you advertised yourself available for casual sex on your profile? In hetsville, maledoms who just want a quick encounter can be pretty sleazy.

I would suggest raising the bar for who you are trying to attract.

See I see this like I see the world in general.

Our Standards have lowered to the point that things like this become acceptable.

Mind you I am 27 and have been activly seeking knowledge in this lifestyle since I was 16.

My behaviour when it was poor was NOT tolerated and I was often spoken to or removed from play parties. The Young or Inexperienced (and by young I do not mean physical age I mean experience wise) should be spoken to.

The Problem? NO ONE WANTS TO!!! They just want to complain about it. If it wasn't for the people who took the flogger out of my hand and showed me how to swing it I would still be doing it dangerously. If it wasn't for people enviting me to workshops and Dungeon Demo's I am sure I would still be acting like a walking Penis with a Superiority complex.

If you are around and you want to help, TRY. Take the time and get to know them. Speak to them offer some suggestions and ask them questions. OPEN UP TO THEM! We should always try to leave someone better off not worse.

I know I know I want to save the world and teach everyone to sing in three part harmony, but this is not really the case. I just hate being judged by someone elses stupid behaviour and if I can help someone carry themselves better well I am willing to do that.

MANY AREN'T!

That is fine it isn't anyones responsibility however I know that I would not be where I am if someone somewhere didn't take me under thier wing and offer me some friendlt guidance.

I currently am having the same sort of issues, it seems that there are plenty of men who are willing to call themselves a master, and wishing that I address them as such, within just a few moments of online chatter. I often ask myself, a master of what /or who ? I don't think anyone can be a master, until they have mastered someone or something. My frustration seems to be that the more educated or experienced dominants are willing to settle for less then their equal, meaning rather then look for a sub/slave that is close in age and one that will challenge and grow with them, they would rather find the younger, more needy and less educated ones, in hopes they will be easier to train, a quick fix, to a less then a meaningful and intimate relationship. As I hold strong in my desires/needs in a mate, patiences seems to be a very good thing, a must. :: soft smiles ::

indeed things ahve changed on this lifestyle path. No longer do the experienced submissives vet a claimed master, it is just assumed. Out of the next 10 that come down the pike with a master image stated, there might be one that can fulfill the image.

A decade ago, in a rough patch of dating, a friend gave me this piece of wisdom:

Best Ones: All but exclusively taken by the time you find them (come on, who is going to turn down an opportunity with one of these ones?!)
Good Ones: Available for a very short window, then snapped up quickly before someone else can steal the show
Average Ones: You can usually find one with-out too much effort. Kind of like Chinese take-out - tastes great, but not always particularly satisfying, and you wouldn't want to live on it for too long.
Sub-Par Ones: Plenty of these to go around, heck you could get yourself two or three for the investment a good one takes.
Dregs: Find them everywhere, in fact, you can't get away from them. They're in your mail, pushing to get on your IMs, in your sock draw, and hiding in the thing that holds the brush for cleaning the loo. No matter how hard you wash yourself, it takes forever to get the filth off.

Six - Don't you just love generalities? - Foot.

Nooooooo, the problem is that I haven't been training too many masters lately, and so now there's a shortage in supply. I've been busy training slaves instead.

Are they bad Masters..or do you just don't connect to them. Every one is different. Meeting a Master doesn't mean, He is your Master.

I know and I walked around calling myself a sub long before i had any "training" (bah i hate that word) actually doesnt seem like a bad thing when a sub does it, wait wait

Good one. It has always seemed to me that the master/sub relationship is a very personal thing and that each one is a small world of its own.

Training in safety, technical skill, protocol is all good but doesn't make someone your master.

Of course, you can just play the role very well and maybe no-one will notice.
