My cell number (that I've had for years) is similar to a fairly new toll free number for a certain cell phone company. SIMILAR mind you, in that if you misspell that company's name, you can get me. And my number is not toll free. So instead of dialing 1-800-CELLPHONE for instance, they dial SELLFONE and get me. They skip the 1-800, and they don't spell the cell phone company name correctly. So at 2am, I get, "hello? is this cellphone?" My answers vary based on what kinda dream they woke me up from. Usually though, it's, "yes, and if you call here again outside of normal business hours we will charge you $50 and turn off your phone for 3 days as punishment."
Oh, and once I called the cell phone company to complain and ask if they were going to compensate me for the idiocy of their customers (just cuz I was in that kinda mood), they said no, and then tried to get me to switch to them, promising I could keep my number. Uhhh, no thanks.
And it has been suggested that I turn off my phone at night, but I just can't bring myself to do it. The last time I accidentally left it in the other room at night, the police came banging on my window (which is skeeery) and asked me to come outside. When I went outside, I saw a Ford Bronco sitting on TOP of my car. Sigh.
