Yep...  I figure as much.  If he can remember to take his meds when he's supposed to, that's really the most important thing these days.  The rest is just fluff.

Actually, toady, he's great with remembering when to take meds and all.  He's amazingly on top of things.  I'm wondering if he isn't battling a bit of depression himself, just with everything this past month.  I'll let his dr. know about this, too.  He's a sweetheart of a man, and I think the oversized platter that christine is referring to may just have splashed his way.  I wish he didn't share in my stress.

Christine, grab an oven mitt, baby!  This plate is getting hot!  *whew*

DRH I am sorry to hear about your Dad and how he is feeling about things. It is hell getting older.. and *feeling* older.

I used to work in a ALF (Assisted living facility) and I can tell you now 99% of them would have much rather have been home.

Not to mention the finacial burden it is to have some one in a ALF.

Hun I hope he finds the grace to accept we all get to go through the aging process.. some less gently then others.. and that he realizes what an amazingly good daughter he has in you.

Your first sentence sums up my feelings of the past couple of weeks, but I tend to keep trying to be a goofball bc the alternative, for me, is just so seriously sad.  I hope that you are feeling better soon and that you know that we all "go through it" at times, and we're here for each other.  The past couple of months, I have realized that (though I've been on here for almost 3 years) this is a safe place for me to unload some of the things that I dare not anyplace else.  *hugs*

Yep, LadyH, sure is.  Matter of fact, I gave him a haircut a bit ago and told him that he wouldn't be able to get this kind of service at the nursing home.  [:)]
