hate that me ear hurts and the ear canal is so swollen that the drops I was prescribed can't get to where they can do their job. I know what you mean Last week I went to the GP and instead of a GP I got a rude and incompetent "Nurse practisioner" who was more interested to send me to unrelated other healthchecks then i was coming for...she checked my throat from 3m distance (her desk was between us) and despite that it hurt like mad when she touched my ear she was claiming that I am fine, accusing me of "being keen on antibiotics" and pronouncing that she will prescribe it even when there "would be no medical evidence."...following by more harrassment about her other healthchecks, which I refused then to do any appointment. However...(will still write my complaint today and post it tomorrow after work) those antibiotics did help at some point and after 4 days I was finally able to brush my hair again which was simply too painful before as my ear and the surrounding skin was far too painfull...now I went to the GP again, this time thankfully I proper qualified one, and she prescribed me another load of antibiotics...this time penicillin for my throat...and thankfully since about 2 hours I have the impression that it is helping finally...because this morning my sore throat was driving me nuts and at lunchtime it strangely changed into intense headache and now both of it is gone...I just hope it stays away now and continues to get better because as I am off to 4 weeks canada next week friday I need to be fit there and don't want to get sick their either... Last week friday I thought to give my last remaining earpain a proper treatment to get rid off it and used tea tree oil inside my ear....ouch...f***ing hell, that was my worst decision ever...I had 3 hours immense pain because of that and after 90 minutes I took a shower to rinse it out as much as possible followed by swallowing a variety of painkillers...and I think it only got better as I took more medication of my amitriptyline (which I take at night for my fibromyalgia)...as my GP had told me that amitriptyline numbns my nerves I thought this might help and did finally, as then I could sleep 40 minutes later finally... Ear pain can be a real nightmare...Hope you get better soon...
