LOL L:inea you are lucky..Komodo all 150 lbs of him LOVES to be paddled, whipped, cropped and pummeled..he considers it a massage. Let mama get ticked off however and you would think he was 5 lbs of puppy.

And Yeah Reds...I know I wrote it..but Even though I KNOW how to pronounce it, it always looks like Tit-UsVille to me...which considering how often men stare at female chest could explain the name (it's doesn't but it could)

I love it that my neighbor/buddy took me out to dinner this evening just to talk about stuff.  I like that he said I'm easy to talk to and there's no fear of judgment, and that he knows I'll tell it to him straight, whatever it is.

When I decided that the time had come in my life to get close to a person of the canine persuasion, I already had arthritis in my shoulders, so knew that I couldn't handle a big dog.  Three years later, the arthritis has crept from my shoulders into my fingers & I thank god that Sparky only weighs 12 lbs.  As for beating him, I think that one time I tapped him on his butt with a finger.  His knowing that he has disappointed me by his behavior is enough to get him to cower under the daybed, poor tyke.

I love it when I simply ignore those who are too stupid for words rather than pay them any attention, esp. when I realize that they are little newbie trolls, who put on the "Dom" label like a lobster bib.

Believe me Linea...Ko knows if he pulls me, it had better be in a sled. Actually he walks very well on a leash and is my stability when my balance shuts down on me. It really is all in the training and..he learns very quickly.

I know that now, poen, but when I got him, I'd never trained a dog before & was unsure of my ability to do so.  We started out in obedience classes, but when the instructor told me that I couldn't train him without giving him constant treats, we went out on our own & learned together.  I'm not saying that I could train another dog, but this guy is very special.  He was feral in New Orleans & came to me through a local rescue group after Katrina.  I feel blessed every day that he came into my life!

Sigh...I hate trainers who do the every time you want the dog to learn something give them treats..and those who teach people to use crate methods instead of behavior mods for dogs left home alone during the day. None of my dogs have ever been crate trained, but they are housebroken and house trained. When we got Komodo he grabbed a steak off the stove top, he has never done it since then (and no he wasn't hit or yelled at) and today I can leave a roast out to thaw and he won't even look at it. Food can sit nose height on the coffee table and all he and Ebony will do is is lay in front of it and watch it until I come back, finish eating and put something  in their bowl if I decide to.

It does take patience Linea and I LOVE knowing you had it and didn't take shortcuts that lead to spoiled and overweight dogs holding out like kids for a treat to ensure good behavior.

I love it when I call DaddyBoo and tell Him I'm at home today and He asks if I'm sick-sick or residual headache sick.  I told Him I'm tending to the aftershocks of yesterday's migraine, but am otherwise ok.  I also told Him that, after this meeting with the counseling team, I have the apt. to myself for several hours before Things come home, since my dad is gone for the day, and He says, "I'm thinking a house call might be in order."  [8D]
