poen, I have no idea where my patience & ability to work with this little guy came from, but he has rewarded me for it many, many times over.  Being feral, he had no clue how to act like a pet.  It took about a month of his being at the other end of the leash, inside & outside, every moment I was awake before he would let me touch him without his cringing & trying to go hide.  Once he started learning what it was that I expected him to do, he would grasp a new command about every 20 minutes.  This is when "the Amazing Wonder Dog" was added to his name.  It was so much fun watching him while giving him new commands.  He looked like he was thinking, "I don't know what it is that you want me to do, but I really, really want to do it for you!!"

When he came to me, he already had heartworm & the vet told me in Spring, 2007 that he wouldn't make it past Fall of that year.  When I took him in for his yearly this Spring, the vet said he didn't understand it, but his lungs were clear & he only had a slight murmur in his heart.  He truly is amaxing & wonderful.

I love it when I am waiting in the doctor's office, and the radio is playing I WILL SURVIVE with diva Gloria Gaynor!  I was picturing me and my fellow Pimpettes going wild singing it together!![sm=banana.gif]

What's funny is I always picture us singing "You Don't Own Me" as they did at the end of "The First Wives Club"... Bette Middler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton... and then CJ comes in at the end and says "of course I do, you're my pimpettes."

i love it when i'm beaming as a proud mommy should after hearing the wonderful praises about emo teen from her teachers ...also love it when pet calls from private jet (before takeoff) to say he has an extra-special present for me.  *smiles*
