i love that my sis has been diagnosed with breast cancer. why?

+ because confronting her mortality has made her realise the things she was afraid of are little things, not worth sweating over. + because she's suddenly become the brave, kick ass, sister i always knew she had in her, but was too afraid to show.
+ because i think she's going to realise how FUN life is, even with all it's irks and annoyances and life threatening diseases
+ because she gets to see how much i really do love her

hopefully she caught it early. How sad that sometimes it takes a crisis to realize how precious life really is; a serious illness, a car accident, etc

I used to be a volunteer with a hospice program. Without fail, the most alive people I ever met were people who were dying or who had had a serious brush with death. I'm so glad to hear your sister is herself again. It reminds me of a story about Buddha. People asked him if he was god - no he says. Is he a prophet - no he says. They ask him several questions and he says no. Who are you they ask. Buddha says

I am awake.

May we all be awake.

How right you are, Sunshine! I volunteered w/Hospice too as well as Children's Hospital AIDS Program & Ronald McDonald House.
Out of all my volunteer jobs, those 3 had the most alive, most focused, most loving people I"ve ever met. When I was w/the Ronald M. House, one day I was at Children's Hospital w/my um and while we were in the cafeteria waiting for test results one of the parents of a um w/a brain tumor recognized me, came up & offered support. Her um had a MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMOR and she offered ME support? I'll never forget that day. The kids were incredible & I thank God my um was able to join me & play w/this diverse group of kids. What a rewarding experience!

Angel, forgive my ramble but as I was typing I just couldn't stop the happy feelings coming to the surface at meeting folks much like you/and your sister. I'm here for you if you ever want to talk. Sorry I can't download Skype but if you want my phone #, it's all yours!

YEAAA Linnea... Congrats on making it to the wedding

Angel..Teach her and encourage her to live everyday as the joy it is.

Prayers that she has a long and wonderful life and that the prognosis is good are on-going
