This was a nice read too Only thing i dissed is the biological women remark. It always clashes to my ear like keep the tg-people segregated from REAL men and women.

I agree 100% about using the forums...male sub/slave profiles can really be like a dime a dozen, but through the forums you're able to see additional dimensions of the poster's personality.

Again, have to agree with the photo thing. You do NOT have to show your face! But when a female is getting a ton of messages from a dozen people with the nick "Sub-this or that" - all those similar nicks just sort of blend together without a visual reference.

I don't show my face here because I'm a professional person. I get people who recognize me from work all the time! I got recognized at a funeral last night. I wasn't even family, just there to support a friend in his time of loss. But some one came up to me with "I know you from somewhere...?" I said "I'm **** from ********" She went "Oh, Yes! I was in your shop the other day." After she walked away, my friend laughed at me, "Aren't you glad she didn't say "I know you from CollarMe!" *sigh* I glanced around at the number of nuns in the group and said "THAT would be very scary!"

Good post op. But. I am mostly the oppisite of what you wrote. I consider what you wrote generic. I don't even want to get into the age thing. It may be good for someone just starting out. The thing is that you have to be yourself. If I followed what you wrote I would probably be one of the whiners on here.

I think they should consider making your two posts on how to find someone here sticky at the top so people can find them quickly when they join.

Neither of us had photos up. I did offer to get him one, if he could have talked me through the scanner process. I've never used it, and back when we were talking I was on a then elderly Windows 95 system. Not the most user friendly device ever made.

We just met for coffee after about a month of talking. Told each other what color shirt we would be wearing. Low tech but effective.

Thanks for your thoughts, Stephan. You are indeed wise.

I don't want to hijack, but as I mentioned on the other "sister" thread, it's my impression that some/many (?) Doms don't seek. They wait for subs to seek them out. I wonder how many here find that to be true?

Rest assured there wasn't a TG bias in the statement. When I say bio, the inference is that there are a number of men who pose as women (often bisexual, sometimes lesbian.) I'd politely request that no offense be taken, where none was intended.

Hiya Dnomyar,

I didn't spend enough time emphasizing the value of the message boards. When I originally met charlotte, I only had two words on my profile: GO AWAY. Regular posters on the message boards always have more, and better exposure to others than anyone on the 'other side.'

Out of curiousity, if you weren't posting on the boards, do you suppose you'd have much success?

Stephan to tell the truth I am at work and I post on here because I have a new computer and could not get into chat. I havent had time to play around with the company firewall to get around it. I probably won't because I like it here. I have actually met with a lot of women in person from chat. The thing about that is when you do everyone in chat ends up knowing about it. Im happy to say that I have had no negative reviews. While in here I can kep my IM off. Ever see a big screen with nothing but messages on it. The up side of that is I learned how to type faster.
I have met a lot of great people here. What the forum has over chat is that here you can really get into a lot of great discussions . There is a lot to be learned from here. There is a lot more intelligence in here than there is in chat.

I don't think that the chats or the boards are really very good indicators of a person's sincerity, character, or personality on the whole. Personally, I do a lot of field work, bounce from company computer to company computer, and prefer having conversations about thread topics at munches and things as opposed to an online forum format. A computer is just for meeting people that you'd like to know in real life: it's not the precursor to an engagement. Usually when I log on, I browse around and see who's online at the same time and has something that makes me laugh or think in their profile, then say hi. I don't think a person posting 30,000 forum posts in the last year is a prerequisite to messaging them, of course, if some of the most recent ones are good, then sure.

Also, I like the idea of making this and the other one sticky. Which mods run the boards here? I think it'd be a very worthwhile addition up there with the Rules and Introduce Yourself sections.

i too wanted to say what a wonderful post this was! here is an example of a reply email i wrote within the past week which illustrates what You wrote perfectly.

i sincerely hope more read this thread ~~

i have to tell you, an obvious chain letter sent to a bunch of women will get you absoultely no where.

let's start with i've never been on myspace so that's patently not true in reference to me.

second, the email's so long i quit reading half way through. plus, it's not written directly to me.

third, LOOK AT MY PROFILE!!! what part of "i belong to Master SkyWalker, which makes me a Gorean's slave; and also sister to kayra :) i'm only here for the Boards" makes you think i'm single??

Though i'm rather new to the message boards, i am finding them so very interesting. Everyones ideas and opinions open my own mind far beyond where it would go alone.
The first post made me want to re-do my profile, lol, but not today... I'm just watching for now. As for pictures, i fall into the yes please catagory simply because i've been duped before. Its not a fail safe, but a small safety measure. I dont chat on CM but am a chatter and can typefasterthanaspeedingbullet spelling errors aside.
I dont put that on my resume. grins*

Seriously, I dislike IMing with strangers and chat rooms seem so superficial to me. It seems its always small talk and just on banal and ordinary things most of the time. Even when I checked out the room on "slaves for sale". There was no auctioning going on just mindless chat and innuendo.

A smart man, is a hot man. Ask any of us here on the forums. From what I've heard, I'm curvy therefore I am smart....so you can take my word for it!

Stephann that was well written but I must add there are females who pose as men also (I learned that from experienceand I am a het woman) If you mentioned that I must have overlooked it, if so my apologies.

All people need to do is just be themself, period.

I met Sir here over two years ago, I added him to my favorites next day he emailed me.
