It would take pretty amazing opportunity (and a very skilled negotiator) to coax me into giving up my place and moving away from my life here. I can be remarkably stubborn when it comes to this sort of thing.

My take on relocating is that well I know I am going to relocate, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'd relocate to that specific dominant perhaps I'd just take the dominant's location into account (if I felt the relationship/connection was going to last) but I might move to them I don't know, I wouldn't do it right away though.
I don't have a trouble with relocating, the main problem would be say bye with friends/family but I've never been one of those who get homesick, my home is literally where my ass is, I always feel at home wherever I go so the "home" term isn't really meaningful or problematic to me

LOL!  I didn't necessarily mean to move for "The One".  I simply meant that I don't have anything holding me here.  I wouldn't mind moving simply because I've always lived here and would like to try somewhere else.

I've never moved more than 50 miles before but I have done a lot of those small moves. This move though is 1500 miles and sometimes it feels more than a bit daunting.
It helps to have emotional support from friends and CM friends, the most and important support is of course from my Owner.

This is going to be my grand adventure.

Now if only I could manage to get everything packed! I've totally stalled on it, yesterday it was like slamming into a wall of exhaustion and I can't seem to pull out of it.

Moving is a lot of work but the end result is going to be worth it.
Yayyyyyyyyyy I'm moving moving, no more snow.

I'm trying to think about if I had to relocate.  Thing is I'm attached to my town for one.  And I'm on SSD so I think that would make relocation complicated...

greetings to all,

In the past, had finances allowed it, I would have relocated a few times (in a couple of instances, internationally).

As things are now, relocation is my Master's choice.

well wishes,

A dominant who is willing to relocate here...

I can work anywhere.  I travel all over for work.  Where doesn't matter to me as much as most.  If there is a good reason to, I can sell the house and move.

oh hell yeah i'd move, in a heart-beat, or should i say, after my son is settled into college for at least a year;  about six years ago i almost moved to another country, however, the whole citizenship and immigration red-tape issues were a nightmare that i'll never put myself in a situation to deal with again.

I find allot of subs say that will relocate, are bisexual and will submit to do anything--as a means to get attention/ accepted/taken--and when it comes to it---pffttt they won't, aren't and wouldn't.

Again, I think far too many subs are enamored with the fantasy---and have given no thought to reality--

This is not unique to subs (or wannabe subs).  Many people face "put up or shut up" choices in day-to-day life.

Very often they will not (or cannot) take that leap into the unknown, to leave the comfort of the familiar behind.

They may have honestly believed that they could make the jump, but until tested it is always theoretical.  It doesn't make them bad people, or weak people; it just shows that they, like many of us, don't truly know themselves.

I wouldn't do it. My family is here and this is where I am going to stay.

Edited to add: Unless Lady H suddenly switches and asks me to accompany her to FL to live with greedy....then I would relocate in a New York minute.

I moved from America to Australia and have been happily married two years this Oct.

I am so very glad I did it !  Now I don't have to read His words through text then look at His picture and wonder if His eyes are stormy or happy.  Now I get to SEE what His eyes are doing, what his breath feels like.  I no longer have to imagine His touch.

We were friends through on online RPg, then more then frends through the same game, we took our time ( almost 3 years) before meeting face to face and I think it was about 2 and a half years before I even got to hear his voice on the phone.

I am very blessed, He is everything He said He was.  I had no unhappy "Surprises" when we finally met face to face.  WHen He walked through my apartment door for the first time, it was like He'd always been doing it..like it was always His home and we'd always been together.

WHen He left to return here to OZ, I was heartbroen and there was nothing on this earth that was going to stop me from boarding an aeroplane and flying around the world to be with Him.

Yes, the move has been difficult at times.  Even though Oz is an English speaking country, the words are used differently and food is not the same.  Health care is different ... the way people interact is different here and so forth.

I have immigration coming up agian very soon and if I were told I could not stay, I wouldn't care what country we were in so long as we'd get to be together.

WHen it is right, it's right and you'll know it and you'll go where you have to in order to be together.

I know that a lot of subs / slaves may state that they are willing to relocate......
But would you really move half way across the world ,,,,, or even further.
And yes I understand about getting to know and learning to trust your Dom / Master before doing anything , it's just as a Dom I see very little point in having contact with subs that are so very far away.... Please tell me I'm wrong...

I did it.  It worked out.  I'm very happy.  Just don't be stupid.

I would have moved to England or Dallas ONLY if he were willing to let me visit my family, esp if something had happened to mom (my dad is deceased) and for family occasions on a routine basis.  Neither had the will or the money for such.

My Sir lives about 25 minutes from me, I like his neighborhood,  My mom is gonna leave her condo to me when she passes.   When the time comes, I am sure Sir will decide what is best for us.

Sure, I'd move, but not to ANYWHERE, and it wouldn't be at the drop of a hat.

I'd have to be very convinced that the relationship had an excellent chance of succeeding long-term. Also, it would take some time to make career/financial changes for the transition.

i moved 800 miles to be with Master.  Yes, there were quite a few visits and one very interesting trip to meet in the middle one weekend, but it became clear quite quickly that's what needed to happen.  Haven't regretted it at all but there have been quite a few adjustments.
