for this reason and many more is why i am seriously thinking about getting rid of yahoo all together on my pc. almost every month i find changes in it that they have programmed in and it's nothing i want to have.i have no reason to use 360,i rarely use messenger anymore.and even with the so called "adult profile" i have,i have no pics up but i keep getting pick up emails from teenagers.so really yahoo isn't any good use to me anymore and at this point i much preffer the boards here on CM.

I own a yahoo bdsm group. I have not been informed of any charges or fees or cancellations to any of the adult groups or profiles.

Well I have often wondered why yahoo or anyone made you list things under adult content and then censored what you wrote.
Yahoo or Yahell as some call it just deleted my profile with no warning or anything and I have noticed fewer and fewer user names that when you click on goes to 360 so I was thinking too, that it was over.
Saw in a yahoo group today where a woman was complaining about them deleting her profile.
And they are always talking about deleting the adult themed groups on yahoo.

I run an adult group and one of my members informed me of the changes today.  So, I just edited my yahoo profile and unchecked the adult designation box.  Since I have no x rated pics on my profile that wasn't an issue.  And I have no erotic details listed because.. I mean.. why would I choose to put that stuff in there? 
Making a plain profile is easy.  My problem will be if they kill the adult groups.
I belong to tribe.net and have set up something for my group there, but I understand they want to make that a pay site. 
Blech.  Where can the kinky go to gather on the net?  What a PITA.

I am unsure whether the email is a hoax or not. All information I have personally seen is based on receiving the email, and I did not find any official word on yahoo websites, or any news item. Has anyone received this email from yahoo who (1) has an email address that is different than their profile ID (it is not [email protected]), and (2) has their profile set so that one cannot email them (their profile does not show even a partially visible email address that serves as a link to send an email)? In other words, has anyone received an email who only yahoo could have emailed because they cannot be emailed simply by visiting the profile?

I have a primary profile that is NOT marked adult, and a secondary profile that is.  I have received no termination emails regarding my secondary ID but I have seen a marked increase in spam IM's to it.  I suspect strongly that this is a hoax.

One of the local BDSM groups I am in uses Yahoo groups to communicate with members. They use the calendar to post event dates, the message board to chat and other features to share pics of members etc.... This group will not add a member to their group unless you have designated that your profile is Adult. This is done to weed out minors who want to sneak into an adult group. It's the only reason I marked my profile as Adult. I have no adult content on my profile. If they delete these profiles it will cause a problem for this group. (I really hope they are just deleting pics)

But here's what doesn't make sense. They are getting rid of the pics if you have designated it as an Adult profile, but if you have adult content, but have not set it up as an Adult profile, the pics will remain? So people can actually get to them more easily. No more signing in a 2nd time to see the naughty stuff. Wooohooo!

This had been comming for a long time, especially after MSN weeded out all adult sites and especially BDSM to "remove paedofiles" and then started to give pagan groups a hard time. (Thanks to the heavy financial investments and preasure from certain right wing Christian areas with the Assemblies of God being the most dominant" Google, I understand went under similar pressure from the same cliques as have vahoo. cant prove anthing of this but i certainly trust my sources and IK tend to agree with them...  This is one reason whiy I started a small BDSM site initially aimed at the S/E Queensland area but now has a couple of members from the UK and USA all who were originally members here and who also were members of another site.. Proboards are not a bad alternative to open a new group on..

Yahoo has gone from bad to terrible in the last couple years.  We no longer have anything by Yahoo on our system, especially their viral toolbar, shoddy groups, or awkward and insecure mail system.  Hotmail and Gmail for anonymous email, and MSN for chatting.

i recieved the email on my hotmail address associated with my yahoo email address that is not listed on my profile...
