Greetings. You are so right there. I was hospitalized last week for chest pain, which they wanted to treat with morphine, even though I told the doctor twice I am taking subutex, which inhibits opiod medications. I had to make a big fuss before they would check and then they sent a different nurse in to administer a non-narcotic pain med. Guess they didn't like being wrong. When in doubt I always call my pharmacist first. My doc didn't even know how fast I might go toxic on Lithium and damn near killed me by neglecting to check how much was in my blood. I do usually inform my doc of what I learned from the Rx though. It's best to be an informed patient and keep all parties on the same page. ps77
