If we stand by and watch a monarchy at the head of our country, we deserve all we get. That's my point.

I understand what you’re saying.
The thing I think is most over looked, however, is the fact that many/most of us are trained from birth to believe the lie.
In order for those people to act, they first have to realize they are being lied to, and that we should not just accept that. Many still do not.
I am hopeful we are coming close to a time when the group is seeing it, but we will still all need to agree on where the problem lies, and then, on a solution.
The problem for someone like me, who realizes it is all up to us, not a government, to make things change; one small voice tends to be lost in a crowd of the more vocal.
It is a dilemma I am considering solutions for.

I don't, Keira. I mentioned the US because of the OP and most on here are from the US. I could quite easily have applied this to England.

You don’t seem the type.

Perhaps you can imagine the frustration, of someone who comes from a place with a motto like ours, knowing that’s not what we’ve got going on; yet so many believe it is.

I find it ironic that the difference between what we have, and what we say we are looking for, has everything to do with informed consent.

Not being normal is looking better all the time. ;)

This a good example: "it's not the people; it's the government". In my view, this point of view is nonsensical and amounts to a get out of jail free card. People elect the government; people stand by and watch the establishment run amok - in other words, people get the system they deserve.

NG this isnt exactly true, people vote in a government, based on what they say they are going to do, once in office. If they happen to ignore pre election pledges, then one has no choice but to wait until the next election, and then vote them out.

How is that the fault of the voters ? This is pie in the sky, but i would love to see party leaders legally bound to honour election pledges, or to be able to show good reason not to.  Not that that will ever happen
