Status: offline 		Anyone watching the torch relay in San Fran right now? It is surrounded by dozens of riot police with guns and clubs...

And the Olympics is supposed to be about international unity and world peace? What a joke this is quickly becoming....

What part of that would please the nazies? The presence of the police or the fact that they're needed because of what happened to the torch in paris?

Status: offline 		Read your history....the torch relay started with the Nazis. The whole idea is Nazi. And for the flame to be protected by a fascist policy....they would approve.

The Olympics should have never been given to China if it requies this much security.

I tend to doubt it. I think they'd be horrified that their bit of stagecraft has become the focus for protests about human rights. It's exactly the sort of democratic untidiness the Nazis worked so hard to suppress.

I, for one, thought it was valuable to let the Volkswagen company know how the coverage coming out of Tibet reminded me of Reichskristallnacht.

The Nazis are invariably pleased. Sticking my neck out, I doubt this is a special event by their standards of pleasure.

I'd anticipate a Nazi no-show if I were you. They'll probably just send a thank you card or something.......with 20 quid in to help the police along in their common cause.......'possibly signed by the upper echelons - maybe throw a few signed holiday photos in...Goering stockinged-up on a sun longer in Majorca, Goebbels on a jet-ski in Gran Canaria etc.

Status: offline 		Nah. The nazis wouldnt think much of the modern Chinese. The nazis set great store on the power of the panzer you see - handy tools for killing and repressing millions. And for running people over.

The nazis would see the Chinese as such damned amateurs. I mean, the nazis blitzkrieged their way all over Europe - Guderian would never have stopped for a guy with a red flag.

Status: offline 		For me, the irony of this thread resides in the fact that here, dude is invoking the nazis over a demo in San Francisco, in a melodramatic way... wheareas on a recent thread on violent racism committed by neo-nazi groups, many posters protested that in the current context, Islamophobia is kind of understandable.

It would be funny were it not so fucking tragic.

Status: offline 		No, Im invoking the Nazis over the way the police and city has responded to the demonstrations. I've never seen so many police protecting something like that. I mean there were more cops there protecting the flame than protecting the president.

It was an obsession to make sure China isnt offended. Did you know the chinese guys in blue jumpsuits are part of the Chinese paramilitary forces? The same forces responsible for the human rights abuses in Tibet as we speak?

So far this Olympics has only brought out fascism. Reminds me of the pictures of the flame going into Berlin among a sea of swastikas.
