Pretty much all that is listed so far is a great list and I see the mention of burn cream and bolt cutters. Although it isn’t necessarily medical, my emergency kit also includes a fire extinguisher.

Like I keep saying KNOW you partner and make sure your partner knows themselves. Steel In diabetes education classes (and also in first aid), the way I was taught is that the risk to benefit ratio is such that if you don't have a glucometer handy and opt for OJ or glucose ...there is a greater margin of error available generally for going too high than too low...below 70 is generally considered hypoglycemic. Generally, one's body can better handle too high vs too low; if your sugar drops, you lose your ability to think and reason...(glucose is the primary fuel used by your brain). Know what your baselines are and know what they mean. If you have unstable blood suagrs communicate that with your partner(s) and always pack your glucometer.

What I will say is, If you can ask them a question and get an answer then do what they think is best. If they are in a sub drop and they get like this and you think that they may also be low then administer OJ but those Glucose Tabs They send my Blood Sugar VERY High so I don't cary them anymore after taking one when stressed (Screws with BGL) I ended up at 582 and My A1C is Always HIger anyway but I usually stand at around 95 to 125. On the Diabetes end all I can say is TALK to the person who you are playing with about it. Just Know your Partner and you will know the answer in most situations. Steel

Unless you know how to size and apply a cervical collar properly, you can do far more harm than good to the c-spine with one. I also recommend this Dyna Med kit to folks. It has most everything someone would need in a first-aid situation and with the bright orange bag, there is the added bonus of being very easy to find in a dark corner of a playroom. ~stef

In my latest CPR class they advised not to use mouth to mouth but to concentrate on the chest compression on the theory that the hemoglobin contains a goodly supply of O2 and the really important thing was to get it to the cells

To this I would just add that I keep My cell-phone charger in My toy-bag, and I always make sure that My cell is fully charged before play. My First Aid Kit contains the following: EMT scissors, antibiotic ointment, medicated skin lotion, bandages, gauze, bandage tape, cigarette lighter, epi-pen, toothpicks, aspirin/Tylenol/Advil, mints (not sugar-free), peroxide, isopropyl alcohol, Q-tips, nail scissors, nail clippers, tweezers, and a needle and thread. I always carry bottled water and snack crackers (of some kind) in My toy bag, too.

Fast reply - An emergency disaster kit is a good idea. Each area has different natural disasters; toronados, hurricanes, fire, earthquakes, etc. So you should have one in your residence and in all your vehicles. For BD/DS/SM a travel first aid kit is a necessity and several posters here have listed the basic contents. Definately follow up with First Aid and CPR classes every year to keep your certificate up to date. And the CPR training has changed over the years. You can find much of what you need at a drug store, medical supply store and a Army & Navy Surplus. Quick question for Steel - What are a 511 Tool and a 12-in-1 Rescue Tool ? Are those similar to a Swiss Army Knife?

You never want to put anything in the unconscious person’s mouth..no liquids, paste’s , anything due to chocking hazard. Hopefully someone gets to them before they get that low. :)

Cheaperthandirt has good deals, I usually have on hand the usual, plus sutchers, hemostats, and do not forget, tampons, and pads, they are great for absorbing fluids.

fast reply I carry most everything mentioned so far. I may have missed it if someone has mentioned these, but I didn't see them: Steri-strips (wound closures), Nexaband (skin glue), sutures and a suture scissor (because I know how to use them), and a ring cutter. Won't cut through a thick cock ring, but will be able to cut a ring off a finger if there's swelling or a finger gets jammed. I really liked adding the latter recently, as it could save a trip to the ER.
