has anyone got the details for the next convention please?

I have actually been to a Trek convention held at the same time on the same site as a leather convention. A very strange weekend indeed especially as several of them from both conventions stayed at our same hotel, and it was not always easy to tell one from the other.

OP: People do that because sometimes it works. Just consider it a quick filter if it doesn't work for you and be grateful you didn't waste any more time on someone who is incompatible.
