This may or maynot help I seen someone talking about soap and I heard that Ivory soap is the best for use in that area as it isn't anti bacterial so won't mess with the ph down there. And if you get the smelly stuff it makes ya smell good too [:D]

Not at all, i've never had children and my gyne prescribed the Mirena for exactly the same reason. You should check it out. Phoenix

Phoenix, I don't like the sound of headaches for side affects, I suppose it's not gaurenteed you'd get headaches, but my headaches that I get just cause, are real bad and real intense and can't be treated with otc stuff like asprin and excederin, so I'm super duper warry of anyting that can induce headaches, as a side affect. All though it sounds like a good option should I get off DP Cause you're not posta be on it longer than 5 years, an I am close to that.

I have never noticed a smell change since I started depo... shifty eyes So who else smells their fingers after masturbation?[sm=wave.gif] I've been on the depo shot since I was 18 and kinda knew I wouldn't remember to take a pill every day. I gained weight after 6 months or so... but that could have been more due to me being lazy and sitting on my ass all day everyday. Since I got a job and became more active, all that dropped off. Only negative sideaffect I have had from depo, is that due to no one informing me your supposed to alternate arms when you get your shots, one boob is now bigger then the other >< Slooowly fixing that.

Really, I've been on it for years and I get it in the same arm all the time and no one boob bigger than the other problems. All though not this month but last month my regular arm was tender for almost a month so I went from right arm to left.

I might suggest increasing your consumption of yoghurt...it tends to help balance things out down there.

I have the Mirena device and I strongly recommend at least asking your doctor about it. This post is going to be kind of long but I want to give you all the information that I can so that you'll have a better idea of what to think about it. I don't have it for contraception so I can't comment on that, and I've never had the scent issue that you mention so I don't know whether it would help with that either. But if you want to look at something different, I think this is a great place to start. I use it purely for cycle control, and it works great. I was having extremely heavy and lengthy (8-14 days) periods that were completely erratic (anywhere from 20 to 40 day cycles with no pattern, so no predicting when I'd suddenly have a huge mess) and went to the doc for help with it. He immediately recommended Mirena, told Me about it, and I jumped at the chance. I've never had kids (and I'm nearly 43 so it's looking like I probably never will; if you're younger it might make some difference), and the only problem I had was that they had a bitch of a time getting My cervix to open up to insert it. I won't lie to you: getting My cervix to open hurt like hell, but really no worse than the worst cramps I'd ever had. Not even close to what I imagine labor pains to be like. And actually inserting the thing was nothing at all once the cervix was open. They inserted it during the heaviest part of My period so that My cervix and uterus would be as relaxed as possible (that could have been only because I haven't had kids; I'm not sure) and after that I continued bleeding for about 2 weeks. That was annoying, but the doc said it was completely normal. Almost exactly a month after I finally stopped bleeding from the insertion, I had an extremely light period that lasted two days, and that's the last I've had. That was in late November, so it's only been 5 months, but I'm in love with the thing. I've never once had any side effects at all, no headaches, no nothing. The only discomfort I ever had was the insertion and the two long weeks of bleeding after that. Anyway, I think it's just about the best thing since sliced bread (so to speak) and, as I said, I recommend it highly. No fair!!! I always had to get the shot in my booty! Talk about bad ow, I couldn't sit right for 3 days. I would have to agree with you there, I noticed a definite change in my "scent", the x noticed a definite change in taste, I gained an ungodly amount of weight, my sex drive vanished completely, I felt depressed and generally apathetic about being intimate with my partner and life in general, my skin was bad (I never had a problem with acne prior), and my hair was limp. I was miserable. Once I stopped the shot, and wanted to switch to orthotricycline, (proven to help with adult acne!) I had to wait over 6 months for my periods to return. I hadn't had one in the 5 years I was on that shot, which was the only upside. However, it was a moot point, as I never wanted sex. So there is my personal experience. Obviously, this was not a good option for my family planning objectives!! Could be that your new scents are due to bacterial infection, which as Katy978 wisely pointed out, can cause some crazy funk down there. I have no clue about the scent; however, it will cause weight gain and other side effects just like any medication.* *Not only that, they could never stop my cycle. I would go about a month and a half, and there it was.* *It is a very dangerous shot. i had depo for 5 years and i : gained almost 100 lbs- which is pretty good b/c all by itself! never had a period was dry alot became over emotional and very very angry to the point of violence. it took me almost 2 more years to detox completly from it. i now have a non hormonal IUD and i: lost all that weight had a heavy cycle which quicly went back to normal cycle regularly, almost to the day dont have a prob with dryness anymore and calm and feeling peaceful except for the occiasional pms ive never had an issue with smell on either b/c so i would try working on the diet and see if it helps. hugs and good luck.

I have read that sometimes taking a bath vs a shower does a better job of getting you really clean...all those nooks and cranies.

I'm to big to fit in the tub comfortably plus with my bad back it's not safe for me to be getting up and down off the floor of the tub, Plus Baths you're also sitting in dirty soapy water and that is su pposed to be bad for the pussy. Really? I never had problems from using it. Infact if I don't use it, it';s very difficult to rinse and feel clean. By the way why read a thread you know can be tmi, and then shout TMI. Simply stay away from the thread. You know what it's going to be about.

btw: to clarify my suggestion re: tub bath came from numerous responses to similar questions on Talk Sex with Sue Johanson. The recommendation for eating yoghurt: it will help to balance out the good bacteria... as will drinking Kefir. It really does work; a small change can make a big difference.
