Well, i know i'm not a 'switch' because, as my Master always says, there isn't a Dominant bone in my body. But, i'm also not falling under the "it's all for His pleasure" category of submissiveness.

The relationship that i have with my Master is based on the fact that He has needs and desires that i am willing, able, and eager to satisfy and i have needs and desires that are satisfied by being with Him. There's nothing 'selfless' about what i do for my Master. i don't serve without any expectation of recieving a benefit in return. If my needs weren't being met, i wouldn't be here.

Being told what to do by my Master and giving Him what He wants when He wants it and how He wants it and knowing that i'm fulfilling a purpose in His life and helping to make His life more enjoyable, easier, and more satisfying gives me a very good feeling. But, my fantasies are still my fantasies and my needs are still important and there is a balance between taking care of my Master's needs and meeting my own needs.

He has my loyalty, my fidelity, and my obedient service for as long as He wants it. But, if ever a time came that my needs were not being met in this relationship, i would have to consider making a change, including the possibility of leaving. And, knowing that my Master cares about me and wants me to be happy, if i told Him i wanted to leave, He would help me to find a new place to call home. Actually, i feel like i don't do enough for my Master. He gives me so much and i feel very indebted to Him.

I do that with my mom, and my vanilla partner, and my nephews, and myself.

Joy, I think you're reading more into it than was intended. We were expressing surprise that the OP was shocked that she enjoyed it when her Master was pleased.

Nobody said that our own needs aren't being met, won't be met, etc.

Exactly! i'm also that way at work, not only with my superiors but with my subordinates. i want them to be fulfilled, successful, empowered.
