Because I think they *have* to give you medicare and/or medical (not sure though) if you qualify, but no one *has* to sell you insurance. I used to sell life insurance and cancer coverage, and those pre-existing conditions could either kill a deal, or make it prohibitively expensive. I've got to think it's the same (if not more so) with medical insurance. Thanks sub4hire! I should actually be graduating soon and getting a 'real' job, hopefully working for the government, and I would definitely have healthcare then, but, maybe I could check into this in the meantime.
