Ok..guess i will add my 2 cents worth :)    When you say sour stomach and vomiting feeling, are you having reflux?  When I used to have reflux on a regular basis, I would begin coughing and think I had to vomit..and sometimes i would vomit some stomach acid.  This could also be a sign of gallbladder disease or gallbladder colic.  I would suggest you call your doctor.  My sis is a natural health practitioner, and she suggests drinking a small amount of aloe after a meal, or even something called digestive enzymes.  If interested in any of her products, please email me directly.  I personally prefer natural products to taking more meds.  good luck :)

I will add my $0.02, since I have been there.

You should have this checked out by your doctor.

With me, it was no-fooling acid reflux.  It was, possibly, also connected with gall bladder disease.  Mine had to come out about three years ago.

When I got this, antacids did NOT help.  They just seemed to make things worse.  MUCH worse.  The only things that helped were H2 receptor antagonists like ranitidine.  I did not try proton pump inhibitors prior to the gall baldder sugery, so I cannot comment on them firsthand.

Prior to the surgery, extended bouts of acid reflux were often capped by vomiting, but only after extended suffering.  We're talking about several hours of incapcaitation.

Since then, it has returned, but in a much milder form.  These days, I can always trace it to a root cause in my recent eating.  Too much oil is a major risk factor.  I am very careful with things like pizza, and I stay away from things like ribs.  This helps.  A double dose of OTC ranitidine always controls it.

But, I repeat, this is something that you should see your phyician about.  Better a "false alarm" office visit than gall bladder surgery.  Yeah, it was a "minimally invasive" operation, but recovery still impaired me for more than a month, and the first two post-surgical weeks were massively ugly.

Kitchen tested mother approved and a very simple remedy for a sour stomach is real ginger ale not Schweppes but the all natural stuff you can get at health food stores. De fizz it and sip it. If that doesn't do it go see a doctor.

If a pateint presented to me with your complaints I would be getting them to keep a food dairy for two weeks to get an idea of their diet, there could be something you eat regularly that you have an intollerance too and don't know about it.

In the short term I would suggest peppermint and ginger they have been used for a long long time to settle stomachs and there is actaully a huge amount of research that points to these being effective treatments. There are other things a naturpath could give you but they are not avalable over the counter (at least here in Austrlaia) you need a naturpath prescription for them.

On a side note that many bananas a day is extremly bad for you - Bananas are high in sugar and potassium and that much of both is not good.

With sour stomach any dairy products are bad and the whole coating the stomach thing is just a myth biologicaly milk doesn't do that it gets processed just like any other food/drink.

To the people using a lot of antacids,
I also forgot to add that antacids are bad for you. If your body is producing that reaction it is doing it for a reason, antacids stop the bodys normal mechanisms just like pain killers stop the body producing what it needs to produce to help an injury heal faster. If you are needing antacids regularly (more then once or twice a month) you need to figure out what is causing your body to react like that and fix it. If you can't figure it out you need to go and see a health care professional and I wouldn't suggest a gp as they are likely to tell you to just take the antacid. Go and see a naturpath.

No, no reflux. it's hard to explain exactly. my stomach will be really rumbly I'll try to burp an burp an burp to expell some of the bloating and I can't really do any good that way cause I can't burp hard enough, if you will. then it feels like there's something rising from my stomach up and up and up then  I will gag and heave but it's dry there's usualy nothing there, then sometimes I'll heave so hard a bit of foam n spit n stomach juice I guess, and sometimes food if I have any in there will come up then I feel reasonably better for like 5mins then I'm back to needing to burp constantly again.
