what's the best way to shrink or get rid of hemorrhoids?

The doctor? It is outpatient surgery the last time I knew of.

I'll second this. It was quick and painless. There was some discomfort during the healing stage but nothing to compare with the pain of the attack.

That would depend on how large the hemorrhoid is. If it is small and usually comes up when you have a hard or large bowel movement, then a cream, cold cloth, something like that would help. If it is larger, you may need a doctors help.

It depends...

If they are minor...Prep H once in a while may be all you need.
If severe...surgery may be required.
