Status: offline 		I find it hugely different to ask something politely and have someone do it, and to demand it and assume that it will be done. It seems I am far from alone in my way of thinking. I was just surprised by the number of requests to "borrow" Fox I get. I had gotten similiar ones for Angel when he had an active profile which was part of why he no longer does. It wasnt so much the request that irked me, since there are a lot of people who do share and who serve others under their dominant's command. What got to me was the argument when I said no, that I was either missing out on something or that my boys training couldnt be as good as I thought if I had to be concerned about allowing them to serve someone else.  I am territorial. I do not like to share. The boys are the same way, aside form one another they dont like sharing either. Maybe a lot of it is just sour grapes becasue I said no, but I have run into it at clubs as well. I worry a touch about it when I eventualy take Fox out to a club, becasue I know how he will react, and how I will react, if someone oversteps a boundary face to face. I get a little overprotective... imagine momma bear and her cubs.

We were leaving a renn faire, making small talk with a near by couple walking Our way... a compliment was made about me to Master, followed immediately by an enthusiastic "Want to trade?," and a wave and a smile from the pretty blonde at his side. i don't think the jaws of life could have pried me off Master's side. i saw that look of "My mate PERIOD" show on Master's face, and a "sorry, had to try," from the other couple.

Status: offline 		we were attending a munch when a Dom, new to the group, ordered me to get him another drink. When i glared at him his response was "I thought you were a sub". At that point Sir stepped in and suggested the jerk get his own drink from the restaurant down the street.

Status: offline 		When I have owned a slave in the past I have instructed my slaves to be POLITE to others, whether sub or dom, and if they are a guest in my home to give basic service such as providing drink, etc. Polite forms of address should be used and a request honored unless it is a request for intimacy or play or would create a conflict with MY orders. ANYTHING else has to come through me.

I do not consider politeness and courtesy toward others to be submitting to them. She would be submitting to my desires as to how I want her to behave.

I would not allow rude treatment of a slave, nor any stepping over the lines of my ownership of her. Those I associate with understand this and it's just not a problem. I have run into the rude and clueless now and again at events and public dungeons and I deal with that when it comes up.

So, no, I don't see a slave as submissive to all and would not take kindly to someone assuming to order my property about with MY say so. There are persons I would allow to play with her, persons well known and liked. A stranger or a periferal aquaintance ? Never. If someone gets in a flap about that, too bad.

Status: offline 		Other way around here. I'm not supposed to show any self professed dominant any respect other than I would show a sub, the plumber replacing the water heater, etc. Common courtesy only.

And he doesn't share me. So that gets the kibosh immediately.

Status: offline 		I think my wolf would probably go into a laughing fit if anyone else tried to dominate him without it being discussed by the two of us at length.
He is free to talk to whomever he wishes, but when it comes to "real" play, well, there are rules.  Since it hasn't come up, it is irrelevant so far.

I don't do "casual" domination, so I only play with wolf (and a good friend or two) and there wouldn't be any "sub swapping" unless I was very good friends with both.

Status: offline 		I've found this same thing and for the life of me I cannot understand it. Why would someone want to come in to town with their pet /slave/sub and leave them with a complete stranger while the owner goes off sight seeing or something? How safe is that? I would never in a million years consider doing that with my own sub, thats crazy!

As for swapping subs/slaves/pets with someone who's just "passin" thru town, no way. I don't know these people and I refuse to put myself or my sub in harms way.

I feel a sub/slave/pet only has to be submissive to their Owner and no one else.

Status: offline 		In Medieval Europe there were two basic command structures: "noblesse oblige" and "liege majeste."  With noblesse oblige, people had to follow the nobles because they were the nobility -- born into their position, like a caste system.  With liege majeste, people followed the local duke because he fought off the invaders or was the best farmer or judge.  The difference is between respecting someone because of their inherent position, or because of their deeds.

Those whose behavior earns respect have no need to pound on their position as the reason for others to kowtow to them.  Just because some domly dom was born with a silver strapon in his mouth -- or permanently jammed up his ass -- does not mean that all subs must submit to him.

Status: offline 		I am submissive to one person and one person only, that is my Master.  Otherwise everyone is treated they same as I would treat anyone in everyday life - polite and curteous etc.  I am a strong, confident, independent woman and if anyone ordered me to do anything I would laugh at them or tell them to get it themselves. 

I also dont believe in calling someone that is not my Master, Master so and so, or Mistress so and so, I call them by their name, as I am not their sub.  Same as my Master.  If someone came up and called him Master he would laugh, and say only one person has earned the right to call him Master and that is me, his submissive, just call him by his name! lol..... People that insist on being called Master or any other honourific before their name, and you are not their sub, is either new to the scene, a wannabe or just came out of the internet!  No offensive, but it is ridiculous and pretentious.

Status: offline 		For mine,it's a wise sub that with heart and soul,serve only the one that they committed to.If that one decides to share,so orders it to be  ,than it's done without question.But it's never the same.It's one of the major reasons that iv'e walked away from what would have been a collered position in the past.Outsiders to the relationship are just that and through potocol are treated with a  certain respect,but no more.

Status: offline 		As above LOL! Though with exceptions for very good friends ... I have been asked to Top another Dominant's sub with her willing acquiescence and that's no problem to Me. However, it wasn't a "swap" situation, it was more of a learning situation for the other Dominant who was new. That may happen again in the future which is fine. Should the other Dominant want to try topping me ... well Master has the say over that, and i would bet He would be there watching if He allows it. The parameters would be well defined too.

I agree that the idea of trading with "passers through" is dangerous and abhorrent. And essentially, My sub subs to me and no one else, and i sub to Master and no one else. The most that might occur under the circumstances above, would be consensual topping and bottoming to others.

Status: offline 		I submit only to My Lord.  There has never been another man in my acquaintance who has, in my esteem, been worthy, or has even bothered to take the time to earn it.  I willingly place myself in his capable hands, and find the more I do, the better it works for both of us.

Other Doms might earn my polite respect or no.  Doesn't matter.  I am usually polite, even when I am blunt.   What I am not is a doormat, and anyone who submits to EVERYONE is exactly that.

being blunt is no excuse for being rude.
