Why is it that you think you did something WRONG to end up with a bi son, are you implying that being bi is wrong and if so, care to explain?

Well, if you read the rest of the post - and an unusual short one coming from me, it was - you can see from my proffessors teaching that clearly she thought there was something done 'wrong' if you end up with 'less than hetrosexual' children. Was never gonna happen to her kids, nuh-uh.

I am Bi, and I am out to my kids - about being Bi, about being poly, about being leather. In fact, specifically about being 'bottom' as a leather, but only cause they asked. They ask alot of things, and i answer them. They do not tend to ask specific questions about my sex life, but on subjects that make the news, ect, we have fascinating discussions. They are incredible genuises.

My Bi son came out to me on his 21rst birthday, then asked me to be with him when he came out to his twin brother. When he was done telling me he was bi, he hemmed and hawed and obviously had a lot of trouble telling me 'what else.' I said, 'You know there is nothing you could say, nothing you could do, nothing you can tell me, that will ever make me love you any less.' and he just said, 'oh, I know that, Mom.'
He wanted to tell me he was TS, as well, and, he said, he was afraid of the image of TS i might have, because of my brother. I said, 'Son, I am deep enough in the alternative lifestyle community to have several TS friends, and trust me, none of them are crazy like your Uncle.' Then he laughed and said, 'Yea, i should have thought of that, of course you are.'
I spend a GREAT deal of time whining to anyone who will listen that my boys need to make me a grandmother already. I often say, 'you know, it does take a while. there is a whole process involved. They could at least bring home a nice girl, let me know it is in the works. Or, in C's case, even a nice boy, hell, i don't care, i just want grandkids already.'

I think my boys are so bright (well, that part is a well, duh - they are like mega-genuises), so handsome, so witty, so thoughtful, so considerate - i am always so proud of them. One thing i tell them all the time is 'I hope you don't bellive everything your mother thinks about you, because if you do, you are one concieted so and so'

Nope the key was on my keyring..he picked the lock to my toy box and decided to play with the toys inside. At least he put the handcuffs on in front of him instead of in back. He told the cops he was playing magician... Smart kid.

my teenage girl came to me one day and told me "mom, i am Bi" i looked at her and said "at least there is only a 50% chance you will get pregnant".

She stormed off, LOL.  i think she was going for the shock effect. LOL, doesn't work too much with me. i don't care what sexuallity she is, as long as she is safe, informed, and gets an education.

always keep in mind, much of what teens say to you is for shock value. refuse to get shocked, and it loses a lot of it's power.
I had a friend who took her 14 year old daughter to get her hair died florescent blue. Her daughter came home from scool the next day and said, as soon as she got to school, all her friends gathered around her, oohing and awwing, and for a couple minutes, she was the coolest kid in school.
then one of her friends asked, 'did you Mom just, like, totally freak?' and she said, 'No, my mom is cool. She took me.' And all her friends looked at her like she was nuts, and one of them said, 'Then why'd you do it?'

This thread is so going to be removed. ITMT,
I have a young cousin, around 6 now, i think, who attends my sister's daycare. She lives in the middle of conservative God and Country and of course Mother (ee cummings quote) Bible country, most of her daycare kiddies attend her conservative, fundementalist church. And this particular child, well, he's gay, i'm telling you.
At 2, they had a struggle over the dress up box at the daycare. My sis had to tell him to quit wearing the pretty princess clothes, cause his parents didn't like him to. His parents brought clothes to add to the dress up box - camies, suits coats and ties, doctor coats, fireman and police man.. and what did little cuz do? Hide in the closet to dress in the pretty pretty princess clothes. (there's a message hidden in there, boys and girls)
He would fight with the girls to get the princess game pieces, to get to be the princess and the mommy when playing house - oh, just everything. Trust me, the child is being raised in the middle of Hetrosexual Nation, and he is gay as a teddy bear picnic.

I don't know about this.

When my daughter was 3 and my younger son 6, I bought a bunch of "dress up" clothes from goodwill- dresses and shoes and hats, etc. My son HAD to wear, and model, and stride around in all the dresses and heels. Did so for days. Made my ex crazy with worry (made me crazy that the ex would worry. You love your kids and hope they have positive, loving relationships- PERIOD)

Fast forward to now. The kid is almost 15 and a raving heterosexual football player. I can't move around here what with all the male hormones flying (have another straight male teen, also).

It's when parents try to influence and stop kids from trying on different personas that you get problems. Let them be.

I would probably have the same response as you had but would probably add, "then please tell me you plan to adopt if you end up with a woman partner because YOU BETTER make me a Grandma one day.."

I already figured out that my boys' kinks happen to be embarassing their mom.  Which works out wonderfully for me.  I pretend I'm shocked and horrified, and they pretend they didn't tell me more than they actually wanted to.  Either way, keeps me in the loop!

my lil man (4 yr old) is the wearer of tutu's in the house, he loves makeup and high heels- I couldn't be prouder but alas- it will probably wear off as he grows older and likes mommy less. Right now I'm the center of his universe and I wouldn't have it any other way. he is the youngest of 4 and my only boy so I suppose he gets the most free reign but gay or not I will never regret the happy smiles he gives me when I turn on the radio and clap when he dances and sings for me. let em be who they will and remember that they cannot change who they are- they will always be your baby.
