What would you like to chat about?  What kind of person has a like mind?  Are you an egalitarian, or a female supremacist?  Would you rather go to the opera or the beach?

Well, like most things in life....You get what you pay for.

She asked not to be called love....and you say she has a comprehension problem?

Lynnxz -> RE: PROFILE DELETION. SURELY NOT FAIR???? (6/3/2008 7:56:02 AM)

While the op is being a snit, she does have a point. I've had my profile hidden/pulled several times now- to the point where I sent a message to a mod, asking them if they could please look over, and approve my profile. They did, and I've had less issues, although I do get pulled every now and again.

I've also been pulled for "having fake pictures," "Being a dood,"  and generally not putting out.

I've had a few people actually message me to TELL me they were reporting me. Greasy little internet police... I'm a pro sub.. that's all I say in my profile, there's no link to my website. Sadly, the fat little doms that come to collarme because they fail at talking to women in real life, feel that they deserve free pussy and pix, and like to report the hell out of me.

Collarme isn't fair because it's free... but the auto-profile hider thing isn't such a bad idea. At least it's only a one day thing. ;)

kdsub -> RE: PROFILE DELETION. SURELY NOT FAIR???? (6/3/2008 8:12:50 AM)

I am confused...is the profile being judged...or what is said in private messages or public rooms?... It seems to me if a profile has been approved and not changed then a complaint should be automatically ignored if the last approved update of the profile  was before the complaint. Or at least no change since the last  approved update.

One of the trade-offs of having a free site is tools like the auto report system.  To get every profile reviewed when it's reported, to have a custom message sent to the user to tell them what's wrong with it... you're talking staff and bucks.

It is just a small bit of programming...very simple... has the profile been changed since the last approved update?... If yes ...do this... if not...ignore complaint.

Then you're getting into approving profiles, so you have to add more fields to show approved or not, by whom, when, what reason... and again, who is going to approve them???

I think maybe we are not understanding each other...If I am correct any change you make to your profile is reviewed before it is made public... Maybe I am wrong there.

RCdc -> RE: PROFILE DELETION. SURELY NOT FAIR???? (6/3/2008 11:34:24 AM)

Well, there are ways of avoiding having your profile reviewed again if you change it.  You just have to know how to do it and it doesn't take a genius or computer know all.

No, profiles are not reviewed.  You can put anything you want on your profile, and if it's offensive, it will sit there until someone (or more than one someone) notices.

Cali I think you are right...I am sorry...I went back and checked and what I thought was for the whole profile was for Photos alone.

Why on earth do we have to wait 48 hours until the altered profile 'is approved' if they dont review them? Um Errrr. ah well.
As it looks as though this thread is just about exhausted, would just like to thank those who contributed with constructive criticisms and helpful suggestions, not to mention all those who sent me supportive mail...much appreciated!

Having your profile pulled for complaint is a different process. Everybody else can alter their profile however they like.

I think She has a point though, they could at least tell her WHY her ENTIRE profile has been deleted, how hard is it to send her a memo saying "Please delete the first line of your profile as it breaks the rules of this site, thank, CollarMe".?.

Wouldn't that be the human thing to do?.

It would be plenty hard with over 800,000 users, and the fact that everyone SUPPOSEDLY reads the terms of service when signing up and clicks they agree, but miss that outside links, contact info, financial domination, talking ugly about other users, and a plethora of other things are not allowable.  They also fail to realize that one user report does not a profile suspension make, that it takes numerous users.  They also have a hard time understanding that if they tell 20 subs a day to fuck off and die, that in all probability 10 of those will hit the report button on either 1) the email or 2) the profile.

Supposedly the users on  here are literate. Maybe they should actually read what they agree to in terms of use of the site....if not, and they dont like that a human is not paying enough personal attention to their account, they should ask for a prompt refund, because they are definitely paying for a human to do everything you proposed, arent they?

User reporting systems is actually the most fair system around in my opinion.  It is NOT up to one human to "make a call", the users at large are " making the call", so noone can scream that one person arbitrarily is making their lives hell.  The problem only comes when you manage to piss off a LOT of users, or maybe because you (as someone said before) are busy reporting them if they have the audacity to email you more than once.

Yep I agree, if a profile is yanked a reason should be given.

It's not yanked or deleted ,its suspended, and the user is given a chance after the suspension to READ the tos and fix it, they do get an email, and they are told it is due to user complaints.

Oh good, yanking can cause carpal tunnel syndrome [:D]. Really though I had until your post very little idea of how all 'that stuff' worked. Thanks for clarifying it so I can understand the procedure![sm=writing.gif] Now I know how it works. Sorta.

RFL, and maybe, babycakes, just maybe, if you answer emails that way too, the question of why people seem to love to hit the report button on you is solved.
