Oh dear Lord,

United Airways Airbus caught a flight of geese took both engines out asthey were leaving JFK I think. and is now sitting in the hudson river. The piolet did a good job of setting the plane down with no breaking up and the wings were still showing for a while but now submerged. Ferries in the area are on city to transfer people to land.

i just read about it. Amazingly no deaths or serious injuries.

yeah..they do look good. I get a solar manicure (the acrylic is done in two colors..pink and white). No polish at all, just buffed. I wear my nails very very short and have the white part put low (toward the cuticle) giving the illusion they are much longer than they really are. Plus, i only get them done about once every 6 weeks..there is no need to get them done sooner.

Yeah they are saying there could not be better example of the flight crew and pilot keeping the nose up so the plane wouldnt break up. Its very impressive. From early reports there doesnt seem to be critical injuries.

Had it not hit directly into the hudson, and hit the West side of Manhatten it would have be a disaster. Luckily the runway they were on was on the Hudson corridor.

This could have been a sad and deadly situation.

That whole thing gave me the willies. I used to fly them a lot.

I'm a frequent flyer and never fail to read the safety card to see how the doors/hatches open. There's no standardization between airframes.

as for the buses and such...When we lived in Maine we walked to a bus stop and waited. When it would get down to -10, the buses would have a hard time starting, to the point where they would run 30 minutes late. That was harsh!
